Winch hardware is microprocessor controlled with local and
remote modes of operation. Ensure that personnel are clear of
all moving parts (including boom) whenever main power is ON.
WARNING: The Main Circuit Breaker at the High Power Electrical Box and the
Controller Interface Box in the lab must be turned OFF whenever
working on the tow cable and cabling in the Free Fall Fish. High
Voltage is present in these cables.
If the winch is to be operated in hand mode with the Power Module or
DTM disconnected from the tow cable, the Controller Interface Box in the
lab must be turned OFF.
If the end of the tow cable is to be submerged, ensure a dummy plug is
connected to the end of the tow cable to eliminate damage to the
connector and cable.
