Overview

This document provides an instruction manual for the Anko Bluetooth® Waterproof Speaker, designed for users to understand its functions, usage, and maintenance. It covers essential information to ensure proper operation and longevity of the device.

The speaker's primary function is to provide wireless audio playback via Bluetooth® connectivity. It is designed for portability and durability, featuring a waterproof construction that allows for use in various environments without concern for water damage. The speaker is equipped with a rechargeable battery, offering a specified duration of playback on a single charge.

Product Overview and Button Definitions

The speaker features a user-friendly interface with clearly defined buttons for various functions. These include:

  • On/off button: Used to power the device on or off.
  • Working LED/Charging LED: An indicator light that shows the device's operational status (e.g., connected, blinking for pairing) and charging status (e.g., red for charging, off when fully charged).
  • Next track/Volume up button: Allows users to skip to the next song or increase the playback volume.
  • Microphone: Enables hands-free calling functionality.
  • Phone button: Used to manage phone calls, such as picking up or ending a call.
  • Play/pause, Disconnect button: Controls music playback (play/pause) and can also be used to disconnect the Bluetooth® connection.
  • Last track/Volume down button: Allows users to go back to the previous song or decrease the playback volume.
  • Waterproof silicone cover: Protects the charging port from water ingress, crucial for maintaining the device's waterproof rating.

Operation

Power On/Off:

To power on the speaker, users need to long-press the "on/off" button for approximately 3 seconds. An audio prompt will confirm that the Bluetooth® speaker is on, and a blue LED will blink rapidly, indicating it's ready for pairing. To power off the speaker, the same "on/off" button should be long-pressed for 3 seconds, followed by another audio prompt confirming that the Bluetooth® speaker is off.

Bluetooth® Connection:

Establishing a Bluetooth® connection involves several steps. First, the speaker must be powered on. Next, the Bluetooth® function on the user's device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) needs to be activated. The device should then search for the speaker's name, which can be "KM42963561," "KM42963578," or "KM42976646." Once found, the user should click to connect. A successful connection will be indicated by a prompt tone and a steady blue LED light on the speaker. The speaker also features an auto-connect function; upon restarting, it will automatically attempt to connect to the last paired Bluetooth® device, simplifying subsequent uses.

Music Playback:

The speaker offers intuitive controls for music playback:

  • Play/Pause: A short press of the "play/pause" button will pause the music. Pressing it again will resume playback.
  • Track Navigation: To skip to the next song, a short press of the "+" button is required. To go back to the previous song, a short press of the "-" button is used.
  • Volume Control: To increase the volume, a long press of the "+" button is necessary. Conversely, a long press of the "-" button will decrease the volume. The speaker will provide a prompt tone when the maximum volume level is reached.

Calling Functionality:

The integrated microphone and phone button enable hands-free calling:

  • Answering Calls: When an incoming call is received, a short press of the "phone button" will answer the call.
  • Ending Calls: During an active phone call, a short press of the "phone button" will end the conversation.

Charging:

To charge the speaker, the waterproof silicone cover must be opened to reveal the micro USB charging port. A micro USB cable should be inserted into this port, with the other end connected to a DC5V USB charger port. During charging, a red LED light will illuminate, indicating that the battery is being replenished. Once the battery is fully charged, the red LED will turn off.

Maintenance Features and Warnings

The manual emphasizes several important warnings and maintenance guidelines to ensure the device's longevity and safe operation:

  • Battery Life Preservation: Users are advised not to leave the Bluetooth® speaker charging continuously for extended periods, as this can negatively impact battery life.
  • No Disassembly: Users should not attempt to disassemble the device themselves. Incorrect operation during disassembly can damage internal components, potentially leading to reduced sound quality or complete malfunction.
  • Battery Caution: Specific warnings regarding battery handling are provided to prevent hazards:
    • Explosion Risk: There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced. Only a battery of the same or equivalent type should be used for replacement.
    • Temperature Extremes: The battery should not be exposed to high or low extreme temperatures, or low air pressure at high altitudes during use, storage, or transportation. Such conditions can compromise battery integrity.
    • Incorrect Battery Type: Using an incorrect battery type can lead to an explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
    • Disposal Risks: Disposing of the battery into fire, a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting it can result in an explosion.
    • High Temperature Environment: Leaving the battery in an extremely high-temperature environment can cause an explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
    • Low Air Pressure: Exposure to extremely low air pressure can also lead to an explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
  • Operating Temperature: The maximum recommended operating temperature for the device is 45°C.
  • Charging in Wet Conditions: It is strictly advised not to charge the speaker if it is wet or near any water source to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Waterproof Cover: The waterproof silicone cover must always be kept closed when using the speaker in wet environments to maintain its IPX7 waterproof rating and protect internal components from water damage.
