Position the towing vehicle approx. 1.5 m in front of the vehicle being towed. Secure both vehicles from rolling away. There is
a risk of getting crushed between the two vehicles. To ensure that the tow bar is predominantly stressed from a longitudinal
direction when later accelerating and braking, drive the vehicles in such a way that the tow bar is straight and not in a diagonal
position when the towing lugs are opposite each another. It may be necessary to drive the vehicles in oset alignment. The
towing lugs of the vehicles may have to be prepared if necessary before the tow bar can be attached. Refer to the operating
instructions of the vehicle manufacturer.
Now open the tow hooks . Press both of the bolts
down until the tow hook can be moved. If necessary you can completely
remove the towing hook from the tow bar
in order to attach it to the towing lug of the vehicle being towed. Make sure that
the tow hook is inserted from above into the towing lug and that it ts tightly. Push the tow hook back into its original position.
Make sure that the bolts latch back into place properly. Proceed in the same manner with the second tow hook and the second
tow bar
on the vehicle being towed. Push the bolts downward and place the centre piece on to the rst tow bar .
Push the bolts
down again and slide the tow bar approx. 15 cm further together. Now connect the open end of the centre
piece
to the second tow bar . Slide the centre piece over the tow bar until the bolts latch in place.
Now drive the towing vehicle forward slowly and carefully until the tow bar is pulled apart and the bolts
latch into place. Then
stop again and make sure the tow bar is in the correct position. Also make sure that all bolts
