AirPort Antenna Board
with Cables
The AirPort Extreme antenna cables are part of the AirPort antenna board assembly. To remove or
replace the cables, you must replace the antenna board assembly
Tools
The only tools required for this procedure are a jeweler’s at-blade screwdriver and a magnetized
jeweler’s Phillips #0 screwdriver.
Preliminary Steps
Before you begin, open the computer, lay it on its side with the access side facing up, and remove
the following:
All hard drives and hard drive carriers
All PCI Express card s
Processor heatsink cove r
Front fan assembl y
Top and bottom memory card s
Memory cage with rear fan
Processor Heatsink s for 2.8 and 3.0 GHz Processors
Processor Heatsink s for 3.2 GHz Processors
Speaker assembl y
USB cabl e
AirPort Extreme card (if installed )
Bluetooth car d
Logic boar d
IMPORTANT:
If you are working on
a Mac Pro (Early 2008
Dual 3.2 GHz), do not
allow the heatsink to
be separated from the
processor for more
than 30 minutes. If you
are ordering a new
AirPort antenna board,
reassemble the unit
while you are waiting
for the part to arrive.
