Moe
Introduction
The Macintosh'M personal computer has been heralded by
many individuals inside and outside
of
the personal computer
industry as the most important development in the computer
industry in the past several years. The Apple Computer Corpo-
ration
is
describing the machine as the forerunner
of
a new
generation
of
personal computers. Many experts, however,
have maintained
that
although the Mac is indeed different, it
is
not a forerunner
of
a new wave
of
personal computing. They
maintain
that
the new devices incorporated in the Mac such as
the mouse, the Desktop,
and
pull-down menus, are not signifi-
cant productivity aids.
