Replacement Instructions
Follow the instructions in this document carefully. Failure to follow these instructions could
damage your equipment and void its warranty.
Note:

Tools Required
Use the screwdriver provided, or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, preferably with a
magnetized tip
Flat-blade screwdriver
Screw tray or equivalent to hold the screws

Opening the Computer

Locate and Loosen Power Supply

Identify the power supply and loosen its retaining screws.

Disconnect Power Cables

Carefully disconnect the power supply cables from connectors.

Remove Power Supply Unit

Lift and tilt the power supply to clear the circuit board.

Return Old Component

Package and return the old power supply and sensor to Apple.

Installing the Replacement Power Supply

Prepare Replacement Part

Remove replacement from packaging, detach sensor if needed.

Install Power Supply Unit

Tilt and lower the new power supply into place on the logic board.

Seat Ambient Light Sensor

Ensure ambient light sensor is properly seated in the bezel.

Connect Cables

Connect ambient light sensor and main power supply connectors.

Secure Power Supply

Tighten captive screws and the right-side screw to secure unit.

Closing the Computer

Replace Back Cover

Align and press the cover into place until snug.

Secure and Power On

Tighten case screws and reconnect cables to power on.
