The horizontal axis will represent the eig ht years from
1983 to 1990. Place a mark on the axis for the first two years so
that all will fit on th e line as shown in figure 7.20. Place the
paint bru sh on the spo t a nd click without moving it.
To
complete the graduations uniformly , use the lasso to
outline the small part of the axi s from just before th e first mark
to just after th e sec ond. Now , use con s trained horizontal
movement with the copy function to move the sel ectio n copy
right until the first mark of the copy exac tly super impo ses the
se cond mark of the original. Release the mouse and repeat the
process again until there a re eight precisely placed marks.
Fig ur e 7.21 shows the graduations and the creation of the final
mark .
