you wish
to

nter
characters
into
the
MacTerminal
document
and
the
keyboard
is locked,

keyboard
by selec
ting

lock
Key
board
from
the
Commands
menu
.

are
used
wh
en
the
Mac
is
emulating
the
popular
Digital
Equipment
Corporation
(DECM)
VTlOO
terminal
type.
They
indicate
information
concerning
th
e
sta
tus
of
the
terminal.

this

e
so
th
at
we
may

view
the
rest
of
the
items within.
Normally
,
when
typing
onto
the doc
ument
for
any M
ac
application, the
Mac
will
repeat
characters
if a key is pressed
and
held.
With
the
Ma
cTe
rminal
docum
e
nt
,
thi
s feature is
controll
ed by
th
e
Auto
Repeat item.
When
it
is
turned
off,
chara
cters will
not
repeat
if
a key is held
down
.
One

.
When
a line extended
to
the rig
ht
margin
of
the
document
,
th
e
characters
were
wrapp
ed a
round
to
th

t line.
Although
th
e
MacWrit
e
Wraparound
function
pl
aced
an
e
ntir
e
wo
rd
on
the
next
line, the
MacTerminal
document
will
Wraparound
the
characters
individually
when
th
e
Auto
Wraparound item is selected.
When
un
selecte
d,
th
e
char
ac
ters
pa
st
the
right m
arg
in
of
th
e
document
will overwrite
th
e last
character
in the line.
When
the
New
Line item is selected,
the
cursor
will line
feed
to
the
next line in
th
e
document
wh
en
th
e Re
turn
key is
pr
essed.
In
other
words
,
with
New Line selected, pressing the
Return
key will generate
both
a
Return
and a
Line
Feed
cha
racter. Otherwise, the
curso
r will r
et
urn
to th
e fir
st
column
of
th
e
same
line it was on.
