3.1 – SIMPLE STOP
- Turn OFF the system with the red button (31) (push 5 seconds).
- After stop of the unit, shut the hull valve (V0).
NB: It is strongly advised to carry out fresh water rinsing operations each time you stop the unit, this guarantees the longevity of
the membrane and avoids oxidation of metal parts by electrolysis.
If the unit is stopped for a short time (less than 2 weeks) proceed with a rinsing operation (See 3.2 or 3.3).
If it is stopped for a long time, proceed with preservation (See 3.4).
3.2 – STOPPING WITH FRESH WATER FLUSH (WITHOUT SEMI-AUTOMATIC RINSING EXTRA)
Fresh water flush should be carried out before stopping the unit (< 2 weeks). In case of a long stop period, proceed with the
preservation operation.
1. Stop the unit by pressing the red button "STOP" (31) (push 5 seconds).
2. Take 10 liters of water from the principal tank, fill the auxiliary tank (bucket) (without chlorine (0 mg/L), which can damage the
membrane irreversibly).
3. Position the inlet valve (1) so as to take water from the auxiliary tank (bucket).
4. Put the cleaning valve (11) in reject position.
5. Start the unit by pushing the "ON" (green) button (30). Check the level of water in the auxiliary tank (or bucket).
6. Stop the pump by pressing the red button "STOP" (31) before the auxiliary tank (or bucket) is empty to avoid air accumulation (for
ESW901 & ESW902 models make two consecutive flushing : 2 times 10 litres).
7. After stopping the unit, shut the hull valve (V0) and check the positioning of the valves (initial configuration).
3.3 – STOPPING WITH FRESH WATER FLUSH (WITH SEMI-AUTOMATIC RINSING EXTRA)
Fresh water flush should be carried out before stopping the unit (< 2 weeks). In case of a long stop period, proceed with the
preservation operation.
1. Stop the unit by pressing the red button "STOP" (31) (push 5 seconds).
2. Push the blue button "RINSING" (41). The pump starts and automatically takes the water from the on board water system (under
pressure), progressive start (the tank must be contain 30 litres of water minimum to avoid dewatering of the LP pump).
3. The rinsing module contains a timer for a scheduled stop (5 minutes).
4. After the stop of the rinsing cycle, shut the hull valve (V0).
3.4 – STOPPING WITH PRESERVATION
BEFORE THE PRESERVATION PROCEDURE, PROCEED WITH A MEMBRANE RINSING OPERATION (See 3.2 or 3.3)
Fresh water preservation requires the use of an auxiliary tank (or bucket), which should be perfectly clean and FREE OF ANY
TRACES OF GREASY SUBSTANCES
.
Preservation should imperatively be carried out before stopping the unit over a long period
(more than 2 weeks).
NB. Use the preservation liquid (BIOCIDE) - reference AQUA-BASE, Ref. 752002-20.
1. Stop the unit by pressing the red button "STOP" (31) (push 5 seconds).
2. Take 10 liters of water from the principal tank, fill the auxiliary tank (bucket) and add the preservation liquid BIOCIDE (ONLY HALF
OF THE SOLUTION 752002-20): mix with the water.
If the unit is to be stored at a temperature below 0°C, 20% of AQUA-BASE ANTI-FREEZE® ref.752004 must be added to the
preservation solution, during its preparation.
3. Position the inlet valve (1) so as to take water from the auxiliary tank (bucket) and direct it towards the LP pump.
4. Open the air bleed valve (7) of the hydraulic almplifier (6).
5. Put the cleaning valve (11) in reject position.
6. Start the unit by pushing the “ON” (green) button (30). Check the level of water in the auxiliary tank (or bucket).
7. Stop the pump by pressing the red button “STOP” (31) (push 5 seconds) before the auxiliary tank (or bucket) is empty to avoid air
accumulation.
8. When the pump is stopped, shut the hull valve (V0).
N.B: In order to avoid the PRESERVATION procedure during immobilisation of the unit, operate the unit for a few minutes every
week. It is strongly advised to carry out a rinsing operation with fresh water every time the unit is stopped, as this guarantees the
longevity of the membrane and avoids oxidation of metal parts by electro corrosion.
N.B.2: If the unit is to be out of use for more 6 months, renew the storage operation at least once every 6 months, because the solution
deteriorates and loses its efficiency against bacteria development which deteriorate the active coating of the semi-permeable membranes.
