What to do if my Aqua Lung Micra ADJ Diving Instrument has leakage or freeflow from the second stage?
    • A
      andrewtoddAug 1, 2025
If your Aqua Lung Diving Instrument's second stage is leaking or freeflowing, it could be due to several reasons. One potential cause is a damaged or worn LP seat. In this case, you should replace the LP seat. Another cause might be the crown being incorrectly adjusted or the lever set too high; you'll need to reset the crown and perform the Final Tuning & Testing procedures. Also, the crown sealing surface may be damaged, requiring replacement of the crown. Finally, a damaged poppet spring can also cause this issue, and you'd need to replace the poppet spring.

      Jeremy GarciaAug 9, 2025
If you're experiencing low purge or excessive work of breathing with your Aqua Lung Diving Instrument, especially with a full cylinder, there are a few potential causes. It could be that the lever is not properly engaged with the retaining sleeve, requiring disassembly and inspection of the sleeve's condition. Another possibility is that the crown is incorrectly adjusted, or the lever is set too low, in which case you should reset the crown and perform the Final Tuning & Testing procedures. A clogged or obstructed intermediate pressure hose might also be the culprit, so try cleaning or replacing the hose.

First, ensure the intermediate pressure hose isn't loose; tighten it to 40 inch-lbs at the female second-stage fitting. Also, inspect the crown O-ring for damage and replace it if necessary. Lastly, the box bottom could be damaged, requiring disassembly and replacement.

What to do if water is entering the second-stage of my Aqua Lung Micra ADJ Diving Instrument?
    • K
      Kim ReedAug 25, 2025
If water is entering the second stage of your Aqua Lung Diving Instrument, several issues could be responsible. Check the mouthpiece for holes and replace it if damaged. Inspect the demand diaphragm and exhaust diaphragm(s) for damage and replace them as needed. A dirty, damaged, or worn adjustment vane switch O-ring can also cause this, so disassemble and replace the O-ring. Ensure the diaphragm is properly seated between the box bottom and purge cover, checking for any distortion during reassembly. Also, inspect the box bottom for damage, especially the exhaust valve sealing surface, and replace if necessary. A damaged valve body O-ring or cap nut O-ring should be replaced after disassembly. Finally, make sure the cap nut is snug.
