  To improve the drying performance of your Arctic Aire Dehumidifier: * Allow at least 24 hours for the unit to reach the desired dryness when first installed. * Ensure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking the front or back of the unit. * Clean the air filter. * Set the humidity control to a lower percent value for drier air. * Ensure all doors, windows, and other openings are closed tightly. * Position the dehumidifier away from the clothes dryer, and ensure the dryer is vented to the outside. * Note that moisture removal is most effective at higher room temperatures above 5°C (41°F).

  Your Arctic Aire Dehumidifier might not start due to several reasons. Ensure the dehumidifier is properly plugged into the outlet. Check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset if necessary. Also, the dehumidifier automatically turns off when it reaches its preset level or if the bucket is full; in that case, change to a lower setting or empty the bucket and replace it correctly. Make sure the bucket is securely in place. Finally, there's a protective 3-minute delay to prevent compressor overload after turning it back on.

  If you find water on the floor near your Arctic Aire Dehumidifier, check the hose connection to make sure it is tightened. If you are using the bucket to collect water, disconnect the hose.
