This document describes the Argo SWAN EVO portable air conditioner, a local air conditioner designed for domestic use, offering cooling, dehumidifying, and ventilation functions.
Function Description:
The Argo SWAN EVO is a portable air conditioner that provides three main operating modes: cooling, dehumidification, and fan mode. In cooling mode, the appliance cools the room, with an adjustable temperature range of 16°C to 31°C. The fan speed can be adjusted (low or high), and Timer and SLEEP functions are available. The SLEEP mode, activated by pressing UP and FAN buttons in cooling mode, reduces noise and saves energy. In dehumidification mode (DRY), the appliance removes moisture from the air. The temperature is automatically controlled by the electronic board and cannot be adjusted. The fan speed is fixed at low in this mode. For maximum dehumidification efficiency, the flexible pipe should not be connected, and the rear discharge attachment should be left free to discharge directly into the environment. This mode is recommended during autumn and winter. In fan mode, the appliance circulates air without cooling or dehumidifying. The fan speed can be adjusted, but the temperature cannot. The appliance uses R290, a natural refrigerant with a low global warming potential (GWP=3), which is flammable and inodorous. The unit is designed to automatically vaporize condensate in cooling mode, but in high humidity conditions, water may accumulate, triggering a "Full" LED indicator and stopping operation until the tank is emptied. For dehumidification, continuous drainage is recommended.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Refrigerant: R290 (fluoride), 0.13 kg, GWP = 3, 0.00039 Tons CO2 equiv.
- Voltage and Frequency: 220-240V/50 Hz.
- Fuse Style: 5ET or SMT 250V, maximum electricity through fuse 3.15A.
- Start-up Current: Automatic switches and system protection valves must withstand a start-up current of 6A (normally for less than 1 second).
- Minimum Room Area for Installation/Operation/Storage: 7m².
- Min/Max Operating Limits (Internal Temperature):
- Cooling: 7°C DB / 35°C DB
- Dehumidification: 17°C DB / 35°C DB
- Cooling Mode Room Temperature Adjustment Range: 16°C DB / 31°C DB
- Compressor Protection: The compressor starts 3 minutes after its previous stoppage to prevent overload damage.
- Flexible Pipe Length: Maximum 1.5 m for exhaust.
- Remote Control Batteries: Type-AAA - LR03 – 1.5 V (not provided).
Usage Features:
- Installation: Position the unit vertically on a flat, stable surface, at least 50 cm from walls or obstacles. The flexible pipe should be stretched to reach outside (max 1.5m) and hooked to the rear of the air conditioner. For window unit kit installation, a hole in the glass is required, and the round fitting is inserted into the flexible pipe and then into the window unit.
- Control: The appliance can be controlled via an infrared remote control or the control panel. The remote control should be pointed towards the receiver on the air conditioner, within 6 meters, without obstacles.
- Operating Modes:
- Cooling Mode: Adjustable temperature (16-31°C), adjustable fan speed, Timer and SLEEP functions available.
- Dehumidification Mode (DRY): Temperature controlled automatically, fixed low fan speed. Flexible pipe should not be connected for maximum efficiency.
- Fan Mode: Adjustable fan speed, no temperature adjustment.
- Condensate Drainage:
- Cooling Mode: Automatic vaporization of condensate. Manual drainage is required if the "Full" LED lights up, indicating a full tank.
- Dehumidification Mode: Continuous drainage is advisable using a PVC pipe (not provided) connected to the upper discharge hole and directed to a drain.
- Safety Precautions:
- Do not insert objects into the air conditioner.
- Ensure free air circulation around the unit; do not cover grilles.
- Do not use the plug to start/stop the unit; use the ON/OFF button.
- Do not install in rooms with water splashes.
- Unplug before moving or cleaning.
- Do not move while operating; check for condensate and empty if necessary.
- Unplug by pulling the plug, not the cord.
- Do not use if cord or plug are damaged.
- Keep away from fire, flammable, or explosive objects.
- Do not leave unattended while operating.
- If drainage hose is used, ambient temperature must not be below 0°C to prevent water leakage.
- Do not splash or pour water on the unit.
- Do not expose to direct sunlight.
- Do not use insecticides, oils, detergents, or spray paints near the appliance.
- Close all windows for maximum efficiency.
- Error Display: The control panel displays error codes for specific issues:
- FL: Tank full of water (empty tank).
- E1: Room temperature sensor failure (contact service centre).
- E2: Evaporator temperature sensor failure (contact service centre).
Maintenance Features:
- Air Filter Cleaning: Filters should be checked at least every two weeks. Dirty filters reduce efficiency. To clean, loosen the central screw, pull the grille's lever, remove dust with a vacuum cleaner, or wash with lukewarm water and neutral detergent, rinse, and air dry.
- Casing Cleaning: Use a damp, soft cloth. Avoid hot water, solvents, petrol, aggressive chemicals, talcum powder, or brushes. Do not pour water directly onto the unit.
- Storage: Before long periods of non-use, clean filters. Store vertically, protected with a plastic sheet. Do not place heavy objects on top.
- Transport: Transport in a vertical position. If not possible, rest on its right-hand side, then place vertically upon arrival and wait at least 4 hours before operating in cooling mode.
- Power Cord Check: Regularly check the power cord for damage; contact the Service Centre for replacement if damaged.
- General Checks for Maximizing Comfort and Minimizing Consumption:
- Ensure intake and delivery grilles are free.
- Keep air filters clean.
- Keep all doors and windows closed.
- Ensure flexible pipe is correctly positioned without tight bends.
- Ensure room temperature is above 7°C for cooling and above 17°C for dehumidifying.
- Batteries: Depleted batteries must be disposed of separately from unsorted waste at designated recycling centres or returned to a retailer. The crossed-out dustbin symbol indicates this obligation.
- Product: The appliance must not be scrapped with domestic waste. It should be taken to a sorted waste disposal centre or returned to the retailer when purchasing a new equivalent appliance. The crossed-out waste bin label on the appliance indicates this requirement.
