Function Description

The rangehood is designed to extract cooking fumes and odors from the kitchen, providing adequate ventilation. It can be configured for either top ducting, side ducting, or re-circulating operation (which requires a carbon filter). The unit features a fan with three speed settings and an integrated light.

Power Supply: 10A plug fitted.
Ducting Diameter: Φ150mm.
Minimum Installation Height:
- Electric Hob: 600mm from the hob surface to the lowest part of the rangehood.
- Gas Hob: 650mm from the hob surface to the lowest part of the rangehood.
- Important Note: If the instructions for the gas hob specify a greater distance, that distance must be observed. Any installation above 750mm will compromise performance.
Dimensions (in mm, refer to FIG 1.1 for details):
- Widths: 520mm, 750mm, 900mm (corresponding to model series).
- Depths: 300mm, 500mm, 650mm.
- Height: 254mm.
- Fascia Height: 260mm (314mm for bevelled edge panel on ARU52AX-L and ARU52BX-L).

Usage Features

Fan Speed Control: The rangehood features a 3-speed fan. The control switch is located on the left-hand side of the control panel.
- Single line (I) indicates low speed.
- Double lines (II) indicate medium speed.
- Triple lines (III) indicate high speed.
- To turn the unit off, set the speed switch to the '0' position.
Lighting: An On/Off switch for the light is located on the right-hand side of the control panel.
Safety Information:
- The appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed.
- Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Adequate room ventilation is required when the rangehood is used simultaneously with gas or other fuel-burning appliances.
- Cleaning must be performed according to instructions to avoid fire risk.
- Do not flambé under the rangehood.
- Exhaust air must not be discharged into an existing flue used for other appliances.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified person.
- Designed for indoor domestic use only.
- Do not remove or inspect filters while the hood is in operation.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance:
- Ensure power is switched off before cleaning.
- Surfaces should be cleaned with warm soapy water and a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
- More frequent cleaning is recommended in coastal or humid environments to maintain the finish.
Filters:
- Filters should be cleaned frequently, at least monthly, depending on use.
- Aluminium filters are dishwasher safe or can be cleaned with hot soapy water.
- Ensure filters are thoroughly dry before re-installing.
- Slight discolouration may occur if cleaned in a dishwasher.
Lamps:
- Before replacing lamps, ensure they are completely cool and the power to the unit is switched off.
- Replacement lamps can be purchased from hardware stores.
- To remove a lamp, twist it in an anti-clockwise direction.

Installation Guidelines

Preparation:
- Remove the filter and light globes (if installed) before handling to prevent damage.
- Remove the stainless steel fascia (4 screws), taking care not to damage it.
Ducting:
- Determine the most efficient ductwork path, minimizing bends and length.
- Install roof/wall caps for ducting prior to hood installation.
- All ducting material must comply with local laws.
Mounting:
- Cut out cabinetry according to the installation diagram, ensuring access for the power cable.
- With two people, hold the hood up to the underside of the cabinet and screw it into place.
- Do not penetrate any screws into the rangehood itself, as this can cause electrical hazards.
Final Steps:
- Attach the ducting adaptor to the ducting.
- Re-install the stainless steel fascia.
- Re-install the filter.
- Plug in the power and test the unit.
