Why Ashley Pellet stove will not feed pellets, but fuel feed light comes on?
    • C
      Casey HutchinsonAug 22, 2025
If your Ashley pellet stove's fuel feed light is on but it's not feeding pellets, the high limit switch may have tripped. Allow the stove to cool for 30-45 minutes and press the reset button on the back of the high limit thermodisc. If it still won't restart, the thermodisc may be bad, and you can test it by bypassing it temporarily. Other potential causes include a bad auger motor (test by removing it and running the unit), an auger jam (empty the hopper and clear any obstructions), a loose wire or connector (check all connections to the auger motor and high limit switch), or a bad control board (test for power going to the auger motor when the fuel feed light is on).

Why does my Ashley AP5501S Pellet stove feed pellets but not ignite?
    • B
      Brett OchoaAug 28, 2025
If your Ashley pellet stove is feeding pellets but not igniting, the air damper may be open too far, so try closing it completely for ignition. Check for blockages in the igniter tube or its inlet. Ensure the burnpot is pushed completely to the rear of the firebox. Test the igniter element by applying direct power to see if it glows after about 2 minutes; if not, it's bad. Finally, check if the control board is sending power to the igniter; if the voltage is low, check the wiring, and if the wiring is good, the board may be faulty.

What to do if the display is flashing “E1” on my Ashley Pellet stove?
    • T
      todd55Aug 31, 2025
The 'E1' error code on your Ashley Pellet stove can indicate several issues. The stove might be consuming too much fuel; try adjusting the fuel adjuster slide after the stove cools down, closing it by about 1/4" and restarting the stove. The convection blower could be overheating, so clean any dust off the windings and fan blade. Operating the heater on the highest heat setting for extended periods could also cause overheating, so try a lower heat setting. Ensure you are using only wood pellets. A power surge could cause the high limit switch to trip, so check for a surge protector. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the high limit switch might be malfunctioning and need replacement.

Why does the glass soot up quickly on my Ashley AP5501S Pellet stove?
    • S
      stephanielozanoSep 3, 2025
If the glass on your Ashley Pellet stove is sooting up quickly, the flame is weak, and the burnpot is overfilling, it could be due to several reasons. The stove or vent pipe may be dirty, restricting airflow. Ensure the vent pipe is installed correctly. The burnpot holes could be blocked, so remove and clean it thoroughly. Check the air intake pipe for any obstructions. The combustion blower might not be spinning fast enough; it should be around 3000 RPM after cleaning. Finally, the pellets themselves might be of poor quality, so try a different brand or type of wood.

What does error code “E4” mean on my Ashley Pellet stove?
    • E
      Elizabeth SmithSep 6, 2025
The 'E4' error code on your Ashley Pellet stove could be due to several reasons. Check for blockages in the air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe. Ensure the Proof of Fire (POF) thermodisc wires are connected properly. You can temporarily bypass the POF thermodisc to test if it has malfunctioned (but do not leave it bypassed). Make sure the hopper is full of pellets. Verify that the hopper lid is closed and the hopper safety switch is working correctly. If the auger shaft is jammed, empty the hopper and clear any obstructions. Test the auger motor to see if it has failed.

Why does my Ashley AP5501S Pellet stove have a smoke smell coming back into the home?
    • S
      stephen38Sep 9, 2025
If you're experiencing a smoke smell coming back into your home from your Ashley pellet stove, inspect all vent pipe connections and seal them with RTV silicone (rated 500°F or higher) and UL-181-AP foil tape. Also, ensure the square to round adapter piece on the combustion blower is properly sealed with the same RTV. Inspect both gaskets on the combustion blower for damage. Your pellet heater may emit a faint wood-burning odor. If this increases beyond normal, or if you notice an unusual soot build-up on walls or furniture, check your exhaust system carefully for leaks. All joints should be properly sealed. Also clean your stove, following instructions in “MAINTENANCE”. If problem persists, contact customer service.

Why does the high limit switch keep tripping on my Ashley Pellet stove?
    • D
      Donna HernandezSep 12, 2025
The high limit switch might be tripping due to several reasons. It could be that the convection blower is overheating; in this case, clean any dust off the windings and fan blades. The stove might be running on the highest setting for too long, leading to overheating, so try a lower heat setting. Ensure you are only using wood pellets, as other fuels are not approved. A power surge could also cause this, so check if a surge protector is in use. If none of these issues are present, the high limit switch itself may be malfunctioning and need replacement.

Why does the convection blower shut off and come back on in my Ashley AP5501S Pellet stove?
    • M
      mikestevensSep 12, 2025
If the convection blower on your Ashley Pellet stove shuts off and comes back on, it might be overheating and tripping the internal temperature shutoff. Try cleaning any dust off the windings and fan blades. If cleaning the blower doesn't help, the blower may be bad. Also, a circuit board malfunction could be the cause. Test the current going to the convection blower; if power is being sent to the blower when it is shut off, the control board is fine, but if there is no power, the control board is likely bad.

What should I do if my Ashley Pellet stove display is flashing “E3”?
    • V
      Veronica BuchananNov 15, 2025
The 'E3' error code on your Ashley Pellet stove can indicate several issues. First, ensure the hopper is full of pellets. If on a low setting, the air dampener may be too far open and needs to be closed. Check if the burnpot holes are blocked and clean them thoroughly. Inspect the air inlet, interior chambers, and exhaust system for blockages. Make sure the hopper lid is closed and the hopper safety switch is activated, checking the wires for secure connections. If the auger shaft is jammed, empty the hopper and remove the auger motor to clear the jam. If the auger motor has failed, remove it and test it. Temporarily bypass the Proof of Fire (POF) thermodisc to see if it has malfunctioned (but do not leave it bypassed). Finally, check if the control board is sending power to the POF thermo...

What does it mean when the display is flashing “E2” on my Ashley AP5501S Pellet stove?
    • R
      ronniemartinNov 24, 2025
The 'E2' error code on your Ashley Pellet stove can be caused by several airflow-related issues. Check the airflow switch hose for blockages by unhooking it and blowing through it. Ensure the air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe are free from ash or foreign material. Verify that the firebox is properly sealed and the door gasket is in good condition. Confirm the vent pipe is correctly installed. Inspect the airflow switch wire connections. Check if the combustion blower is running and receiving power; if not, the control board might not be sending power. Test the air switch by gently sucking on the air hose to listen for a click. If there is no current going to the combustion blower, check all wire connections. If all wires are properly c...
