What does it mean when my Ashley AP5710 display is flashing 'E1'?
    • M
      millermichaelAug 26, 2025
If your Ashley Pellet stove display is flashing 'E1', it could be due to several reasons. The stove may be consuming too much fuel; adjust the fuel adjuster slide (see the “How To Adjust The Fuel Adjuster” section of this manual). Also, the convection blower might be overheating; clean any dust off the windings and fan blade. If oiling the blower does not help, the blower may be bad. The stove might be left on the highest setting for too long, so try operating at a lower heat setting. Ensure you're only burning wood pellets, as other fuels are not approved. A power surge could have tripped the high limit switch; check for a surge protector. If none of these are the cause, the high limit switch itself may be malfunctioning.

Why is my Ashley Pellet stove high limit switch keeps tripping?
    • K
      Karen EscobarAug 28, 2025
The high limit switch in your Ashley Pellet stove might be tripping due to several reasons. The convection blower may be overheating, so clean any dust off the windings and fan blades. If that doesn't help, the blower may be bad. Operating the heater on the highest heat setting for extended periods can also cause overheating, so try a lower heat setting. Ensure you're only burning wood pellets, as other fuels are not approved and can cause issues. A power surge or voltage drop could also be the culprit, so check if you're using a surge protector. If none of these issues are present, the high limit switch itself may be malfunctioning and needs replacement.

Why does my Ashley AP5710 Pellet stove glass soot up so fast, with a lazy flame and burnpot overfilling?
    • D
      Deborah PughSep 3, 2025
If the glass on your Ashley Pellet stove is sooting up quickly, with a lazy, dark flame and the burnpot overfilling, it could be due to several factors. The stove or vent pipe might be dirty, restricting airflow. Follow the cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner’s manual. Improper vent pipe installation can also cause this issue, so ensure it meets the manual's criteria. Blocked burnpot holes are another possibility; remove and thoroughly clean the burnpot. Check the air intake pipe for blockages. The combustion blower might not be spinning fast enough; test the RPM after cleaning the blades. The RPM should be approximately 3000 RPM. Finally, bad pellets could be the cause, so try a different brand or type of wood.

What causes the Ashley AP5710 convection blower to shut off and come back on?
    • M
      Matthew NguyenSep 6, 2025
The convection blower in your Ashley Pellet stove might be shutting off and on due to overheating, which trips the internal temperature shutoff. Clean any dust off of the windings and fan blades. If cleaning the blower does not help, the blower may be bad. Alternatively, it could be a circuit board malfunction. To check this, test the current going to the convection blower. If there is power being sent to the blower when it is shut off, then the control board is fine. If there is NOT power being sent to the blower when it shuts off during operation, then you have a bad control board.

Why does my Ashley Pellet stove smell like smoke inside my home?
    • T
      tracy30Sep 9, 2025
If you're experiencing a smoke smell from your Ashley Pellet stove inside your home, there could be a leak in the vent pipe system. Inspect all vent pipe connections and ensure they are sealed with RTV silicone that has a temperature rating of 500 degrees F or higher, and seal joints with UL-181-AP foil tape. Also, make sure the square to round adapter piece on the combustion blower has been properly sealed with the same RTV. Another potential cause is a bad gasket on the combustion blower, so inspect both gaskets to ensure they are in good shape.

What to do if my Ashley AP5710 display is flashing 'E4'?
    • A
      Andrew JohnsonNov 15, 2025
If your Ashley Pellet stove's display is flashing 'E4', it could indicate several issues. The air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe might be blocked with ash or foreign material. Follow all cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner’s manual. Check the (POF) thermodisc to see if the wires are connected properly. The Proof of Fire (POF) thermodisc may have malfunctioned. Temporarily bypass the POF thermodisc by disconnecting the two wires and connecting them with a short piece of wire. Then plug the stove back up. If the stove comes on and works, you need to replace the POF thermodisc. Also, ensure the hopper is not out of pellets and refill if necessary. Verify that the hopper lid is closed to activate the hopper safety sw...

      Joan HallNov 18, 2025
If the display on your Ashley Pellet stove is flashing 'E3', it could mean several things. First, check if the hopper is out of pellets and refill it. If the air dampener is too far open for a low feed setting, try closing it all the way. Remove the burnpot and thoroughly clean it, as the burnpot holes may be blocked. Also, the air inlet, the interior chambers, or exhaust system may have a partial blockage. Follow all cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner's manual. Ensure the hopper lid is closed for the hopper safety switch to activate, and check the switch's wiring. The auger shaft could be jammed; try emptying the hopper and removing any obstructions. The auger motor may have failed. Remove the auger motor from the auger shaft and try to run the unit. If the motor ...

What does it mean when my Ashley AP5710 Pellet stove display is flashing 'E2'?
    • C
      cassidy81Nov 21, 2025
If your Ashley Pellet stove display is flashing “E2”, it indicates a problem with airflow. The airflow switch hose or stove attachment pipes for hose may be blocked. Unhook the air hose from the air switch and blow through it; clear any blockages with a wire coat hanger if necessary. The air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe could be blocked with ash or foreign material; follow all cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner’s manual. Ensure the firebox is properly sealed, with the door closed and the gasket in good shape. Check that the vent pipe is correctly installed according to the owner’s manual. Check the airflow switch wire connections for any issues. The combustion blower may have failed; check if it's running and ...

What to do if the Ashley AP5710 Pellet stove will not feed pellets, but the fuel feed light is on?
    • D
      Deborah PatelDec 1, 2025
If your Ashley Pellet stove's fuel feed light is on but it's not feeding pellets, it could be due to several reasons. First, the high limit switch may have tripped; wait for the stove to cool down for 30-45 minutes and press the reset button on the back of the thermodisc. Check the thermodisc to see if it’s bad. A bad auger motor could also be the issue. Remove the auger motor from the auger shaft and try to run the unit. If the motor turns, the shaft is jammed; if it doesn't turn, the motor is bad. An auger jam can also prevent feeding; remove any foreign material. Check all wires and connectors to the auger motor, high limit switch, and Molex connector for looseness. Finally, a bad control board could be the problem; test for power going to the auger motor when the fuel feed light is on....
