The Aspes ALF2106 is a domestic washing machine designed to clean various types of laundry. It offers multiple wash programs tailored for different fabric types and soil levels, including options for cotton, synthetics, wool, and special programs like quick washes and allergy-safe cycles. The machine incorporates features such as temperature adjustment, spin speed selection, and a delayed start function to provide flexibility and optimize washing performance. It also includes a half-load detection system to save water and energy when washing smaller loads.

Usage Features

The washing machine features a control panel with a program dial, electronic display, and buttons for additional functions.

Program Selection: The program dial allows users to select from 15 different washing programs, including:

  • Cotton: For very dirty cotton and flax textiles (e.g., underwear, linen, tablecloth, towel, bedclothes) at various temperatures (60-90-80-70-40°C).
  • ECO 40-60: For normally soiled cotton laundry washable at 40°C or 60°C, designed for energy efficiency.
  • Cotton Pre-Wash: For very dirty cotton and flax textiles with a pre-wash cycle.
  • Cotton 20: For less dirty cotton and linen textiles at 20°C.
  • Colours: For less dirty cotton and linen textiles, specifically colored items.
  • Wool: For woollen laundries with machine wash labels.
  • Rinse: An additional rinse cycle for any type of laundry.
  • Allergy Safe: For baby laundry, with higher temperatures and extra rinses.
  • Spin/Drain: For an additional spin step or to drain accumulated water.
  • Hand Wash: For sensitive laundry or items recommended for hand washing.
  • Easy Care / Outdoor: For very dirty or synthetic-mixed textiles (e.g., nylon socks, shirts, blouses, synthetic trousers).
  • Mixed: For dirty cotton, synthetics, color, and flax textiles washed together.
  • Jeans / Dark Garments: For black and dark items, to be washed inside out.
  • FAST 60' 60°C: For dirty cotton, colored, and linen textiles washed at 60°C in 60 minutes.
  • Rapid 15 min.: For lightly soiled cotton, colored, and linen textiles in a short 15-minute cycle.

Detergent Drawer: The detergent drawer has compartments for:

  1. Liquid Detergent Attachments
  2. Main Wash Detergent
  3. Softener
  4. Pre-Wash Detergent Users should follow manufacturer instructions for detergent amounts and use appropriate detergents for automatic washing machines.

Additional Functions:

  • Temperature Selection: Adjusts the washing water temperature from the maximum programmed temperature down to cold wash (-C).
  • Spin Speed Selection: Allows adjustment of the spin speed from the maximum programmed speed down to no spinning (--).
  • Delay Timer: Delays the start time of the washing cycle from 1 to 23 hours.
  • Child Lock: Locks the buttons to prevent unintentional program changes. Activated by pressing and holding buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  • Half-Load Detection System: Automatically adjusts program duration, water, and energy consumption for loads less than half the maximum capacity.

Safety Features:

  • Door Emergency Opening Function: Provides a method to open the door in case of power cuts or program incompletion, after draining the waste water.
  • Automatic Fault Warnings: The electronic display indicates fault codes (e.g., Er 01 for door not shut, Er 02 for low water pressure) to help diagnose issues.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the washing machine.

General Cleaning:

  • Exterior: Clean with a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent or soap and water, wiping dry with a soft cloth. Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners, or all-purpose cleaning agents.
  • Drum: Avoid leaving metallic objects in the drum to prevent rust stains. Clean rust stains with a non-chlorine cleaning agent, following manufacturer instructions. Do not use wire wool or hard objects.
  • Periodic Cleaning: It is recommended to clean the machine every 2 months using the "Drum Clean" program or "Cottons-90" if "Drum Clean" is not available. Limescale removers specifically for washing machines can be used when needed.

Filter Maintenance:

  • Water Inlet Filters: These filters prevent dirt from entering the machine and should be cleaned every 2 months, or when the machine is unable to receive sufficient water. This involves unscrewing the inlet hose(s) and using long-nosed pliers to remove and clean the plastic bars in the filters.
  • Pump Filter: The pump filter system prolongs the life of the pump by preventing lint. It should be cleaned every 2 months. To access, open the cover on the front-lower right corner, place a container to collect water, loosen the filter by turning anticlockwise, remove foreign materials with a soft brush, and then re-fit.

Detergent Drawer Maintenance:

  • The detergent drawer should be removed and cleaned every 2 months to prevent residue build-up. This involves pulling the drawer forward, pressing a release mechanism, and disassembling the flush stopper for thorough cleaning. The liquid detergent apparatus should also be cleaned of residues.

Important Notes:

  • Always unplug the machine and turn off the water supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Do not open the detergent drawer while the machine is running.
  • Do not force the door open when the machine is running; it will open automatically 2 minutes after a wash cycle ends.
  • The machine must be carried by at least two people.
  • Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.
  • The manufacturer provides a minimum period of 10 years for supplying spare parts.
