Trouble & Possible Cause Symptom & Remedy
C. System will not maintain a low
temperature continuously.
1. Compressor runs continuously or will
not always run when required by the
temperature controller.
1a. Condenser dirty or air flow restricted.
REMEDY: Clean condenser or move unit to
provide free air flow across condenser and
out the side of chamber.
1b. High room ambient.
REMEDY: Locate chamber in well ventilated
area where ambient temperature is normal.
1c. Condenser fan not operating properly.
REMEDY: Tighten fan blade, repair or
replace the motor.
1d. Low line voltage.
REMEDY: If voltage is inherently low,
install booster transformers. If voltage is low
only when other loads draw excessively,
connect chamber to another line which is not
overloaded.
1e. Defective temperature controller.
REMEDY: Repair temperature controller.
1f. Defective relay (activated by temperature
controller.)
REMEDY: Replace relay.
1g. Defective compressor current relay,
compressor or thermal overload (internal)
on compressor.
REMEDY: Investigate cause and correct
accordingly.
1h. Compressor stopping on its internal
overload.
