1.2 Installing the heatsink and fan
To install the CPU heatsink and fan:
motherboard. There are 3‑pin (left) and 4‑pin (right) fan connectors. Only CPU fans
with 4‑pin connectors supports the ASUS Q‑Fan technology.
2. Some heatsinks will come with
pre‑applied thermal paste. If so,
do not scrape it off and remove
installation. If not, before installing
the heatsink, apply several drops of
thermal paste to the exposed area
of the CPU that the heatsink will
be in contact with. Ensure that it is
spread in an even thin layer.
