Troubleshooting
System screens all my incoming home calls.
f You may have selected the Screen unknown or Screen robot prole
setting for Smart call blocker (see page 76). The telephone asks callers to
announce their names or press the pound key (#). We recommend that you
add the phone numbers of your family members and friends, and desired
businesses to your Phonebook (see page 58) or Allow list (see page
86), or add their names to the Star name list (see page 90). This will
avoid Smart call blocker to screen their calls.
f To turn Smart call blocker o, see Set Smart call blocker on/o on page 80.
My telephone does not screen incoming cell calls.
f The screening feature of Smart call blocker is applicable to home calls only. All
incoming cell calls will get through and ring. You can block calls of a cell phone
number by adding the number to the block list. See Block list on page 82.
I want to block a cell phone number.
f If you want to block calls of a cell phone number, add the number to the
block list. See Block list on page 82.
While screening a home call, the telephone suddenly stops screening and
connects to the call.
f Another handset may have picked up the screening call.
f If you have another telephone system sharing the same telephone line,
and someone picks up the call on the other telephone system while the
screening is in progress, the screening process will be terminated and
connect you to the caller.
My telephone block calls from someone I know.
f You may have saved the caller’s number to your block list. To remove the
number from the block list. See Delete a block entry on page 85.
Blocking all unknown calls.
f If you want to block all unknown calls without numbers and calls with
numbers or names that are not in your phonebook, allow list or star name
list, select the Block unknown prole setting. See Set prole on page
80.
