Troubleshooting
Forwarding all unknown calls to the answering system.
f If you want to forward all unknown calls without numbers and calls with
numbers or names that are not in your phonebook, allow list or star name
list to the answering system, select the UnknownToAns.S prole setting.
See Set prole on page 80.
I cannot retrieve voicemail messages.
f Your telephone has both a built-in answering system and voicemail
indication. They are independent features and each alerts you to new
messages dierently (page 112). If you subscribe to voicemail service from
your telephone service provider (charges may apply), contact your telephone
service provider for more information on how to access your voicemail.
I’ve set my LCD language to Spanish or French and I don’t know how to
change it back to English.
f Press MENU/SELECT in idle mode, then enter

364# using the dialing keys.
You hear a conrmation tone.
The answering system does not answer aer the correct number of rings.
f Make sure the answering system is on. When the answering system is
on, should show on the handset. The key light is lit on the
telephone base.
f If toll saver is selected (page 109), the number of rings changes to two
when there are new messages waiting.
f If the memory is full or the system is o, the system answers aer 10 rings.
f In some cases, the answering system is aected by the ringing system used
by the telephone service provider.
f If you subscribe to voicemail service, change the number of rings so that
your answering system answers before your voicemail (page 109). To
determine how many rings activate your voicemail, please contact your
telephone service provider.
f If there is a fax machine connected to the same telephone line, try
disconnecting the fax machine. If that solves the problem, consult your
fax machine documentation for information on compatibility with
answering systems.
