Telephone operation
Options while on calls
Using the telephone base:
To mute a call:
While on a call, press MUTE. When mute is on, the telephone base shows
Muted for a few seconds and the MUTE icon appears until the mute function is
turned off.
To take a call off mute:
Press MUTE
and resume speaking. When mute is off, Microphone ON appears
temporarily on the telephone base.
Mute is automatically canceled when you end the call.
Temporary tone dialing
If you have pulse (rotary) service only, you can switch from pulse to touch-tone
dialing temporarily during a call. This is useful if you need to send touch-tone
signals to access your telephone banking or long distance services.
During a call:
Press TONE on the handset or telephone base.
Use the dialing keys to enter the relevant number. The telephone sends
touch-tone signals.
The telephone automatically returns to pulse dialing after you end the call.
