up
the
computer
and
the
1010
as
described

Connecting
the
1010
For
Testing
section.
Insert
the
3KHz
test
tape.
Remove
the
I/O
cable
and
plug
a
jumper
plug
between
pin
4
(gnd)
of
the
1010
and
pin
4
of
the
computer.
The
pin
numbers
are
illustrated
in
Figure
3-
Put
the
second
jumper
plug
between
pin
8
(motor
control)
of
the
1010
and
pin
8
of
the
computer.
Hook
the
scope
probe
to
pin
11
(Audio
Out)
of
the
unused
I/O
connector
on
the
rear
of
the
1010
(use
Pin
4
as
ground).
Set
the
scope
to
a
time
base
of
.1
ms
per
division.
Type
POKE
54018,52
into
the
computer
and
press
RETURN.
Press
PLAY
on
the
1010.
The
signal
on
pin
11
should
be
at
least
560
mv
on
a
1010S
and
660
mv
ona
1010
C.
If
it
isn't,
proceed
to
Diagnostic
Flowchart
D
for
the
appropriate
model
(1010S
page
4-5,1010C
page
4-18)
to
locate
the
Head
Alignment
procedures.
Do
not
disconnect
the
probes.
Proceed
to
the
MOTOR
SPEED
CHECK.
