TESTING
OVERVIEW
This
section
describes
the
Self
Test
procedure
available
for
testing
and
trouble
shooting
the
800XL.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
*
800XL
Computer
console
with
accessories
*
TY
set,
properly
adjusted
SELF TEST FFATURFS
The
Self
Test
feature
allows
minimal
testing
of the
following
components:
*
Memory
-
RAM
,
ROM
and
ANT
1C
*
Audio/Visual
-
ANTIC,
OT1A,
and
POKEY
*
Keyboard
-
POKEY
and ANTIC
NOTE:
Remove
any
cartridge
from
the unit
To
enter
the
testing
sequence,
press
and
hold
the
OPTION
key
while
the
console is
turned
on. The
Self
Test
menu
screen
will
appear.
To
fixil
the
test,
press
the
SYSTEM
RESET
key;
the
Basic
Ready
prompt
will
appear
on
the
screen.
NOTE:
Pressing
the
HELP
key
has
no
effect
in
any
situation,
except
possible
future
application
programs
and
as an
exit
from
individual
test
to
return
to Self
Test
menu.
