The Atmor ThermoBoost Series Digital Thermostatic 24kW is an electric tankless water heater designed to provide hot water on demand for residential use. This system heats water instantaneously as it flows through the unit, eliminating the need for a storage tank and offering greater energy efficiency compared to conventional tank heaters.
Function Description:
The ThermoBoost 24kW operates by detecting hot water demand when a faucet is turned on. High-power heating elements are activated, and integrated sensors continuously monitor water flow rate and both incoming and outgoing water temperatures. This data is transmitted to a system controller, which precisely determines the amount of power required by the heating elements to achieve and maintain the user-set temperature. Unlike traditional tank heaters that store and continuously heat water, this tankless system only consumes energy when hot water is actively being used, reducing standby heat loss. The unit is designed to deliver hot water at a lower, more comfortable temperature, often requiring little to no mixing with cold water. It can support multiple hot water outlets, though simultaneous use may be limited by the incoming water temperature, especially in colder climates. The digital thermostatic control allows users to set the desired output water temperature within a range of 90°F to 122°F (30°C to 50°C), with a recommended setting of 118°F (48°C) for optimal performance and safety.

Usage Features:
The ThermoBoost 24kW is designed for household and indoor use only. Installation requires a solid and secure mounting surface, with the unit installed in an upright position with water inlet and outlet at the bottom. It should not be installed above electrical boxes or junctions. The unit features a temperature setting knob and a digital temperature display for easy adjustment and monitoring. To activate the heater and display the outlet temperature, the knob is turned clockwise. The temperature can then be adjusted using UP or DOWN buttons. Before initial power-up, it is crucial to purge all air from the heater and water lines by running water through several hot water faucets for several minutes. Failure to do so can cause permanent damage to the heating elements. The system is designed to prevent scalding by recommending a maximum temperature setting of 118°F (48°C).
Maintenance Features:
While the water heater has no required routine maintenance procedures, periodic inspections and tests are recommended to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Filter Cleaning: The filter should be cleaned once every six months.
- Electrical Connections: Electrical connections should be tested annually by a qualified technician.
- Plumbing Connections: Plumbing connections should be inspected at least once a year for signs of damage or failure.
- Descaling: In areas with hard water (high mineralization), the water heater should be inspected and descaled more frequently to prevent scale buildup, which can occur faster at higher temperatures.
- Air Purging: After any maintenance, water stoppage, or other interruptions that might introduce air into the plumbing system, the air must be purged from the unit before restoring power to prevent damage to the heating elements.
- Freezing Protection: If ambient temperatures fall below 32°F (0°C), power to the unit should be shut off at the circuit breaker, and a faucet should be opened slightly to allow water to flow continuously through the device without heating, protecting it from potential freeze damage. If water is suspected to have frozen inside the unit, it must not be turned on until the ice has melted and no leaks are present.
- Leak Detection: In case of a water leak, the water supply to the unit must be shut off at the incoming supply line valve, power to the heater must be turned off, and a local authorized distributor should be contacted for service.
The Atmor ThermoBoost 24kW is grounded and requires connection to a dedicated circuit breaker on the main electrical panel. Plumbing installation must precede electrical installation, using metal pipes or reinforced hoses rated for up to 8 bar and high temperatures. Copper pipes are recommended for the first three feet of the unit's water inlet and outlet. For installations on upper floors or in attics, local codes must be followed, including the installation of a drip pan with drainage or a leak detector and automatic shutoff valve.
