Operation
We recommend pressing the IAUTOI button and setting the temperature to 72 °F (22 °C).

Press the buttons to turn t he functions on or off .
Use the dials to adjust the temperature, the
b lowe r speed and the air distrib ution . The LED in
a bu t ton will light up when the funct ion is
sw itched on. The sett ings a re displayed for a few
seconds in the radio or MMI* display .
The driver and front passenger side can be ad-
jus t ed separate ly. The settings are also d isplayed
in the clima t e control system d isplay.
IO FF j Switching the climate control system
on/ off
The IOFFI button swi t ches the climate contro l
syst em on or off. It also switches on when you
press the knob . Airflow from outside is blocked
when the climate con t rol system is switched off.
IAIC ! Switching cooling mode on / off
The air is not cooled and humidity is not removed
when cooling mode is switched off . Th is can
cause fog on the windows . The cooling mode
sw itches off aut oma t ically when there are cold
outside temperat ures.
la,I Switching recirculation mode on/ off
In recirculation mode, the a ir inside the vehicle is
circu lated and filtered . This prevents t he unfil-
tered a ir outside the vehicle from e ntering t he
veh icle interior . We recommend switching recir-

culation mode on when driving through a tunnel
or when sitt ing in traffic

The !AUTO I button or I l1ii> FRONT ! button switches
recirculation mode off .
I AUTO I Switching autom atic mode on
Automatic mode main t ains a constan t tempera-
ture inside the vehicle . Air temperature , airflow
and air distribution are controlled automatically.
Adjusting the temp erature
Temperatures between 60 °F (+16 °C) and 84 °F
(+28 °C) can be set . Outside of th is range,
low or
high will appear in the radio or MMI* display . At
both of these settings, the climate control sys-
tem runs continuously at maximum cooling or
heating power. There is no temperature regula-
tion.

Adjusting th e airflow
You can adjust the airflow manua lly to suit your
needs . To have the airflow reg ulated automati-
cally, press the
IAUTO I button.

Adjusting the air distribution
You can manual ly select the vents where the air
will flow. To have the air distribut ion regulated
automat ica lly, press the
IAUTO I button. ""
