Overview

This document describes the Aura Carbon Fiber Lamp Electric Heater, a radiant infrared heater designed for both residential and commercial use. It is available in two models: CF40240 and CF60240.

Function Description:

The Aura infrared heater produces radiant heat that warms people and objects directly, rather than heating the surrounding air. This makes it an efficient heating solution for various indoor and outdoor environments. The heater can be wall or ceiling mounted and includes brackets that allow the user to direct the infrared heat where desired. It is designed to provide comfortable warmth while adhering to safety standards.

Important Technical Specifications:

The heater models and their corresponding technical specifications are as follows:

  • CF40240 (B / SS):
    • Voltage: 208/240V
    • Total Power (W): 3000/4000W
    • Current (AMPS): 14.4/16.6A
  • CF60240 (B / SS):
    • Voltage: 208/240V
    • Total Power (W): 4500/6000W
    • Current (AMPS): 21.6/25A

Installation Clearance Distances:

To ensure safe operation and prevent fire hazards, specific minimum clearance distances must be observed during installation:

  • From Floor: 8 feet (2.4 m) for both CF40240 and CF60240.
  • From Ceiling: 1 foot (30 cm) for both CF40240 and CF60240.
  • From Adjacent Walls (Heater Ends):
    • CF40240: 4 feet (1.2 m)
    • CF60240: 5 feet (1.5 m)
  • From Adjacent Walls (Heater Sides):
    • CF40240: 4 feet (1.2 m)
    • CF60240: 5 feet (1.5 m)
  • From Flammable Objects (all sides): At least 6 feet (1.5 m).
  • From the Front of the Heater to Combustibles: At least 6 feet (1.8 m).

The heater must be installed by a certified electrician in compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes. Wiring procedures and connections must adhere to national and local electrical codes. The heater should never be pointed towards walls or ceilings.

Usage Features:

  • Mounting Options: The heater can be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted using the provided brackets.
  • Directional Positioning: The brackets allow for adjustment of the heater's angle to direct infrared heat where desired. For ceiling-mounted installations, a maximum angle of 45 degrees is recommended. It is important not to adjust the heater angle while it is running to avoid personal injury.
  • Remote Control: The heater comes with a remote control for convenient operation. The remote control must be pointed in the direction of the receiver on the heater junction box, which is located on the right side of the heater. The remote has a maximum range of 6 meters.
    • Operation Modes: The heater can be set to run at 50% or 100% power.
    • Emitter Control: Each emitter can be controlled separately using the up and down arrows on the remote. Pressing the up button (^) will turn the upper emitter on, and pressing it again will turn the upper emitter off. Similarly, the down button (v) controls the lower emitter. The "all" button will turn both emitters on or off simultaneously.
    • Soft Start Function: The heater features a soft start function, using only 16% of maximum power for 5 seconds when turned on. After 5 seconds, the heater automatically switches to 100% power.
    • Standby Mode: The heater can be switched to standby mode using the "OFF" button.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • The heater must be properly grounded.
    • Do not use the heater in areas with gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors/liquids.
    • Do not block air intakes or exhaust.
    • Do not cover the heater or hang clothing on or near it.
    • Keep combustible materials at least 6 feet (1.8m) from the front and away from the sides and rear.
    • Do not insert foreign objects into ventilation or exhaust openings.
    • Do not use the heater without the aluminum grille in place.
    • Never leave the heater unattended while operating.
    • Disconnect power at the service panel if the heater malfunctions and have it inspected by an electrician before reusing.
    • The unit produces radiant heat that warms people and objects; do not point the heater at windows or vacant spaces, as the heat will not be delivered to the occupants.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Turn off power and disconnect the heater from the main power supply before cleaning.
    • Remove screws from the left side cover and slide the perforated front grille out of the heater body.
    • Carefully wipe the reflector with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrubbing brushes.
    • After cleaning, be sure to properly reinstall the heater grille.
  • Emitter Replacement:
    • WARNING: Turn off power and disconnect the heater from the main power supply. Failure to do so can cause electric shock or death.
    • Ensure the heater and emitter are cool before handling.
    • Remove screws from the left side of the heater fixture and remove the aluminum end cap.
    • Carefully slide the protective grille out to expose the emitter and white sealing connectors.
    • Unscrew the protective white cap and slide it back to expose the wire/metal connector system.
    • Disconnect the metal locking connectors by squeezing the metal tab.
    • Bend the metal tabs to remove the small reflector shield sheet metal parts.
    • Slide the emitter into a bigger cavity to remove it from the reflector and heater body. Dispose of the broken emitter at a local recycling center.
    • Hold the new emitter by the ceramic ends or wear clean dry gloves to prevent contamination.
    • Position the new lamp inside the unit, inserting it through the reflector openings.
    • Insert the Reflector Shields and bend the tabs back into place. These shields hold the emitter in the correct position.
    • Connect the new emitter to the terminals of the heater and screw in the white plastic caps.
    • Carefully replace the protective aluminum grille and screw the protective end cap in place.
  • General Maintenance: Regular inspection and maintenance are recommended as per the Installation and Operation Manual. Labor charges, diagnostic charges, transportation charges for replacement parts, and bulb replacement are not covered by the Limited Warranty.

Warranty Information:

  • Residential Use: Limited One (1) Year Parts Warranty for defects in workmanship and materials.
  • Commercial Use: Limited One (1) Year Parts Warranty (excluding the emitter lamp) and Ninety (90) Day Emitter (Lamp) Warranty for defects in workmanship and materials.
