Overview

The AUTOOL CT160 is an injector cleaner and tester, a mechatronics product designed for the diagnostic and cleaning of fuel injectors in automobiles and motorcycles. It integrates ultrasonic cleaning technology with microcomputer oil pressure closed-loop control for cleaning and detection. This equipment simulates various engine operating conditions to effectively clean and inspect fuel injectors, making it an essential tool for automotive and motorcycle repair, maintenance, research, teaching, and training departments.

Function Description

The CT160 offers a comprehensive set of functions to ensure optimal fuel injector performance:

  • Ultrasonic Cleaning: This core function allows for the simultaneous ultrasonic cleaning of single or multiple injectors. It utilizes the penetrating and cavitation shock waves generated by ultrasonic waves propagating through a medium to powerfully clean objects with complex shapes, cavities, and pores. This effectively removes stubborn carbon deposits and internal blockages from the injectors. To enhance the cleaning effect, a heating switch can be activated during the process.
  • Uniformity Detection: This feature assesses the consistency of the injection volume across all injectors. It helps identify any discrepancies in fuel delivery that could impact engine performance.
  • Atomization Observation: Equipped with a bright background light, the device enables a comprehensive and careful observation of the nozzle's spray atomization pattern. This allows technicians to visually inspect the quality and consistency of the fuel spray.
  • Tightness Test: The CT160 can detect the tightness and dripping of fuel injectors under high pressure, ensuring there are no leaks that could lead to fuel loss or inefficient combustion.
  • Fuel Injection Volume Detection: This function measures the fuel injection volume of each nozzle under specific working conditions, such as a set time and number of injections, providing quantitative data on injector performance.
  • Idle Speed Test: Simulates engine operation at idle speed (750 rpm) to test injector performance under these conditions.
  • Medium Speed Test: Simulates engine operation at medium speed (4500 rpm) to test injector performance.
  • High Speed Test: Simulates engine operation at high speed (7500 rpm) to test injector performance.
  • Accelerating Test: Automatically cycles three times to simulate the working condition and fuel injection volume of the fuel injector when the engine is accelerating uniformly from 750 to 7500 rpm.
  • Variable Speed Test: Automatically cycles three times to simulate the working condition and fuel injection volume of the fuel injector when the engine is idling (750 rpm), medium speed (4500 rpm), and high speed (7500 rpm).
  • Idle Speed Spray Volume Test: Measures the fuel injection volume when the engine is idling for a certain number of times.
  • Medium Speed Spray Volume Test: Similar to the idle speed spray volume test, but for medium speed conditions.
  • High Speed Spray Volume Test: Similar to the idle speed spray volume test, but for high speed conditions.
  • Unit Info: Displays the product number and date of manufacture of the device.

Usage Features

The CT160 is designed for user-friendliness and efficiency:

  • Powerful Cleaning: Utilizes ultrasonic technology for strong cleaning capabilities.
  • Stable Oil Pressure: Features electronic pressure regulating control technology, ensuring stable oil pressure with a wide adjustable range.
  • Durable Oil Pump: Incorporates a high-quality oil pump for long-term stable operation.
  • Clear Display: A high-definition digital tube display makes operation clear and easy to learn.
  • Recyclable Detection Liquid: The oil tank liquid level is visually displayed, and the detection liquid can be recycled, promoting cost-effectiveness and environmental responsibility.
  • Enhanced Visibility: Bright background light allows for clear observation of the fuel injector's behavior during operation.
  • Versatile Compatibility: Comes with replaceable composite joints suitable for a variety of vehicle types.
  • Adjustable Parameters: Within the allowable adjustment range, users can arbitrarily adjust test time, working frequency, fuel injection times, and shortest switching period for the fuel injector.
  • Intuitive Controls: The operation panel includes dedicated buttons for pulse width adjustment, time/injection times adjustment, start, pause, stop, and function selection, along with a pressure adjusting knob.
  • Preparation for Ultrasonic Cleaning: Before cleaning, fuel injectors should be removed from the vehicle, checked for rubber seal damage, and externally cleaned with cleaning agent and a soft cloth. The cleaning bracket is then placed in the ultrasonic tank, and the injectors are positioned in the holes.
  • Ultrasonic Cleaning Procedure: Add an appropriate amount of dedicated ultrasonic cleaning agent to the tank. Connect drive wires to the injector sockets. Select "01 ultrasonic cleaning" and set the desired time (default 10 minutes). Press start and turn on the ultrasonic cleaning switch. The heating switch can be used to improve cleaning. The system automatically stops when the time runs out.
  • Injector Diagnostic Preparation: Ensure the oil drain handle is open. Add approximately 1000ml of testing agent through the glass window, controlling the flow to prevent overflow. Install the fuel injectors using the appropriate top oil inlet connector and secure them with the locking rod.
  • Diagnostic Test Procedures: For each test (Idle Speed, Medium Speed, High Speed, Accelerating, Variable Speed, Leakage, Spray Volume tests), select the corresponding function, set the working time (if applicable), and press start. Adjust pressure and pulse width as needed. The system will automatically stop when the set time or cycles are complete.
  • Flow Balance Observation: During spray volume tests, observe the liquid level in the measuring cylinder. Pause or stop work when the liquid level is 2/3 full to assess flow balance. Deviation should not exceed 2% or refer to the injector's technical manual.
  • Spray Shape Observation: Observe the fuel injection shapes and angles for uniformity across all nozzles at various speeds. Adjust the opening pulse width to check for consistent minimum opening pulse width.
  • Leak Detection: Observe the tightness of the injector needle valve under high system pressure. No leakage should occur within one minute.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the CT160:

  • Post-Operation Cleaning: After use, drain the ultrasonic cleaning agent and wipe the equipment clean with a dry soft cloth.
  • Long-Term Storage: If storing the machine for an extended period, discharge the testing agent into a bottle and seal it.
  • Testing Agent Replacement: The testing agent should be replaced periodically as impurities accumulate. Before replacing, drain the old agent, clean the tank with a little testing agent, drain again, and then pour 1L of new testing agent.
  • Fuse Replacement: The device has a fuse located in a square box on the power socket. If the fuse is blown, it can be replaced with a new one.
  • Power-On Troubleshooting: If there is no digital display after power on, check the power supply, plug connection, and fuse. If issues persist, contact the manufacturer.
  • Ultrasonic Tank Usage: Never operate the ultrasonic cleaning function without cleaning agent in the ultrasonic tank, as this can damage the ultrasonic system.
  • Approved Agents Only: Only use the specified ultrasonic cleaning agent for the ultrasonic tank and approved testing agent for the main unit. Using other reagents can cause malfunctions, damage, corrosion, and void the warranty.
  • Agent Purity: Always clean the system when changing the test solution and add 1L of new solution.
  • No Mixing of Agents: Cleaning agent and testing agent should not be mixed.
  • Forbidden Substances: Strictly avoid using kerosene, gasoline, or other unapproved testing and cleaning agents, as they can damage the equipment's "O" rings, pipeline rubber parts, and surface coating, leading to leakage and other issues.
