Function Description

Avalla K-45 Pressure Cooker: The K-45 is primarily a pressure cooker with various pre-set cooking programs. It allows for both pressure cooking and vented cooking. Users can select from programs like Potatoes, Beans, Stew, Steam, Soup, and Rice. It features a 'Keep warm' function and a 'Delay start' option for convenience. The digital display shows the cooking time, and users can adjust the time manually.

Avalla K-90 Multi-Cooker: The K-90 is a versatile multi-cooker offering a wider range of cooking programs and temperature settings. It supports pressure cooking, vented cooking, and manual program cooking. Pre-set programs include Soup, Meat, Beans, Poultry, Rice, Vegetables, Porridge, Steam (Vent), Stew, Sauté (Vent), Yoghurt, Slow Cook, and Pressure Cooking. It also has a 'Keep warm' function and a 'Delay start' option. The K-90 features a light arc indicator, temperature indicator, and allows for adjustment of both cooking time and temperature. The pressure release valve on the K-90 is a 360-degree system, allowing for 'Seal' or 'Vent' in three positions.

Usage Features

General Usage: Before first use, all packaging should be removed. The cooker lid, cooking pot, silicone ring, and heat shield should be cleaned in warm soapy water and dried thoroughly. The silicone ring must be correctly seated around the heat shield to ensure a proper seal for pressurization. The condensation cup should be positioned in its allocated slot at the back of the unit.

Cooking Programs (K-45 & K-90): Users can cycle through cooking programs using the 'Function selection' (K-45) or 'Menu' (K-90) buttons. Default cooking times are provided as a guide and can be adjusted using the 'Time adjust' buttons. Holding down the 'Time adjust' buttons allows for changes in 15-minute increments.

Pressure Cooking: For pressure cooking, the 'Pressure release valve' must be set to the 'Seal' position. After a few seconds, the digital display will indicate preheating, and cooking will commence once the operating temperature and pressure are reached.

Vented Cooking: For vented cooking, the 'Pressure release valve' must be set to the 'Vent' position. Similar to pressure cooking, preheating will start, and cooking will commence once the operating temperature is reached.

Delay Start: Both models offer a 'Delay start' function, allowing users to set a delay between 30 minutes and 24 hours before cooking begins.

Keep Warm: After a cooking program finishes and the 'Float valve' has fallen (indicating pressure has dropped), the lid unlocks. The unit automatically switches to 'Keep warm' mode for up to two hours. Users can also manually activate 'Keep warm' mode and adjust its duration.

Safety Precautions during Use:

  • Always familiarize yourself with the instructions and operation before use.
  • Do not force the lid if it's under pressure; wait for the pressure to drop and the lid to unlock.
  • Steam venting during cooking is normal to regulate pressure.
  • Always use heat protection and keep hands, face, and other body parts away from the pressure release valve when venting or removing the lid.
  • Ensure the silicone seal is properly seated to build pressure and prevent steam leaks.
  • The sides and top of the cooker become hot during cooking. Move the cooker only by its side handles when switched off, unplugged, and cool.
  • Ensure all food is piping hot throughout before serving.
  • When manually releasing pressure, high-temperature steam will be released. Use heat protection and a long-handled wooden spoon to move the valve.
  • When pressure cooking, ensure the 'Float valve' has fallen before removing the 'Cooker lid'.
  • Do not use the appliance where combustible/flammable gases or vapours are present.
  • Do not cover, block, tamper with, disassemble, or alter the pressure valves.
  • Do not immerse the multi-cooker or any of its electrical components in water.
  • Do not operate the unit if it is dropped, damaged, or showing signs of malfunction.
  • Do not exceed the food or liquid filling levels detailed in the manual.
  • Certain foods (oatmeal, cereals, pearl barley, apple sauce, cranberries, split peas, noodles, dried vegetables, beans, grains, rice, pasta, rhubarb) can expand considerably under pressure and should be treated with caution. Do not use for instant rice.
  • Always check the pressure release valve and float valve for obstructions and ensure they work freely before use.
  • When using for non-pressurized functions, keep the pressure release valve in the "vent" position.
  • Do not connect to an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  • Always place the cooking pot on a heat-resistant surface when hot.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and Storage: The unit should be cleaned thoroughly after every use.

  • Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning.
  • The cooker base and control panel should be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
  • The cooking pot and silicone ring are dishwasher safe.
  • The pressure lid, including the pressure release valve and anti-clog cap, can be washed with water and mild soap.
  • For stuck food residue, fill the cooking pot with water and allow it to soak before cleaning.
  • Air-dry all parts after each use.
  • Caution: Do not use abrasive materials or cleaning products on any part of the multi-cooker. Never put the cooker base or lid in the dishwasher or immerse it in water or any other liquid.
  • Only use genuine Avalla silicone rings designed for the specific model.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:

  • Difficult to Attach Cooker Lid: If the silicone ring is not correctly fitted, place it in the correct position.
  • Floating Valve Stuck on the Bar: Push the bar slightly.
  • Steam Leaking: If the silicone ring is not in place, dirty, damaged, or not correctly fitted, refit it correctly, clean it, and ensure it's free from damage/defects.
  • Dirt in the Anti-Clog Cap or Float Valve: Clean the anti-clog cap or float valve.
  • Damaged Anti-Clog Cap: Replace the anti-clog cap.
  • Float Valve Does Not Rise: Insufficient food in the multi-cooker; add food and water according to directions.

Disposal: The device should not be disposed of with general household waste. It must be taken to a specially established collection point, recycling center, or waste disposal company in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU.
