It features a 1/4" chuck for quick bit changes and offers both forward and reverse rotation. Its two-position adjustment allows the user to configure the screwdriver in either a pistol grip or a straight driver configuration, providing versatility for different tasks and access to tight spaces. To operate the screwdriver safely, users must first read and understand the safety instructions. Before use, the screwdriver needs to be charged. Connect one end of the included USB cable to the screwdriver and the other end to a USB charging port, such as a power bank, wall charger, notebook, or car charger. The LED battery capacity indicator provides a visual representation of the remaining charge: a red LED indicates less than 20% charge, red and yellow LEDs indicate 20-70% charge, and red, yellow, and green LEDs indicate more than 70% charge. When only the red LED is lit, the screwdriver requires recharging.
The screwdriver's two-position adjustment feature allows it to be used as a straight driver. To change its configuration, press the rotation button, then turn the front section in an anticlockwise direction. Release the button once it can no longer be turned. It is important not to use the screwdriver as a pry bar in either position. To prevent accidental activation, always keep the forward/reverse switch in the center (locked) position when not in use.
Installing and removing bits is straightforward thanks to the 1/4" fast load chuck, which allows for quick, one-handed bit changes. To install a bit, first lock the forward/neutral/reverse switch in the neutral position. Pull the chuck sleeve away from the driver, insert the bit into the chuck, and then release the chuck sleeve to lock the bit in place. Always pull on the bit to ensure it is securely fastened. A small gap for bit installation is normal. Only bits with a quick connecting locking groove should be used. To remove a bit, lock the trigger in the neutral position. With the nose of the tool pointed away from you, pull the chuck sleeve away from the driver and remove the bit. It is crucial to remember that this screwdriver is not designed to be used as a drill.
The forward/reverse switch also functions as a trigger lock. For forward rotation, with the chuck pointed away from you, move the lever to the far left. For reverse rotation, move the lever to the far right. To activate the trigger lock, move the lever to the center off position. A critical safety warning states that the direction of rotation should not be changed until the tool comes to a complete stop, as shifting during rotation can cause damage to the tool.
The Avid Power 4V Cordless Screwdriver does not require special maintenance. Any repairs involving internal parts of the tool should only be performed by specialists, adhering to the safety instructions provided.
For cleaning, plastic parts should only be cleaned after disconnecting the charger. Use a wet cloth and soft soap for cleaning. The tool and the USB cable should not be immersed in water.
