Latestrmware
Purpose:Makesurethatthecameraisuptodateandhasitsfullpotential.
Werecommendyoutorunthecamerawiththelatestrmware.
Firmwareoptions:
Axisoffersproductrmwaremanagementaccordingtoeithertheactivetrackorthelong-termsupport(LTS)tracks.Beingonthe
activetrackmeanscontinuouslygettingaccesstoallthelatestproductfeatures,whiletheLTStracksprovideaxedplatformwith
periodicreleasesfocusedmainlyonbugxesandsecurityupdates.
Usingrmwarefromtheactivetrackisrecommendedifyouwanttoaccessthenewestfeatures,orifyouuseAxisend-to-endsystem
offerings.TheLTStracksarerecommendedifyouusethird-partyintegrations,whicharenotcontinuouslyvalidatedagainstthe
latestactivetrack.WithLTS,theproductscanmaintaincybersecuritywithoutintroducinganysignicantfunctionalchangesor
affectinganyexistingintegrations.
Note
Thesupportinothersystems,suchasVideoManagementSoftwaresystems(VMS),isoftendependentonthecamera
rmwareversion.Makesurethesystemsupportsthecamera’srmware.

•Ifthereisalaterrmwareversionthantheoneinstalledonthecamera,downloadandinstallit.
Upgradejustonecamerainthesystem.Makesurethatthecameraisworkingproperlyinthesystemandthenupgradeall
theothercameras.
•Toavoidanupgradefailure,forexampleiftheinternetconnectionisslow,dotheupgradethroughalocalconnection.
