  If you're having trouble setting the IP address for your Axis Security Camera, try the installation again, ensuring it's done within two minutes of powering on the camera and that the Ping length is set to 408. If the IP address intended for the camera and the IP address of your computer are located on different subnets, you will not be able to set the IP address. Contact your network administrator to obtain an appropriate IP address. You can disconnect the camera from the network and run the Ping command. If you receive a reply, it means the IP address may already be in use. Obtain a new IP address and reinstall the unit. If you receive a 'Request timed out' message, check all cabling and reinstall the unit.

  If the IP address of your Axis Security Camera has been changed by DHCP, and the camera and client are on the same network, use AXIS IP Utility to locate the camera by its model or serial number. Alternatively: 1. Move the camera to an isolated network without a DHCP or BOOTP server and set the IP address again using AXIS IP Utility or the ARP Ping command. 2. Access the unit and disable BOOTP and DHCP in the TCP/IP settings to give the unit a fixed IP address. Return the unit to the main network. 3. If a dynamic IP address is required, select the service and configure IP address change notification from the network settings. Return the unit to the main network. The unit will now notify you if the address changes.

  To clean the dome cover of your Axis Security Camera, use a non-abrasive, solvent-free neutral soap or detergent with water and a soft cloth. Rinse well with clean lukewarm water and dry with a soft cloth. Never use harsh detergents, gasoline, benzene, or acetone, and avoid cleaning in direct sunlight or at elevated temperatures. Do not clean a dome cover that looks clean to the eye and never polish the surface, as excessive cleaning can damage the surface.
