TEACHING SURESHOT RACK MOUNTED CONTROLLER
The decoder inside the rack mounted unit must learn the new
address before it will accept any transmissions. To teach the
decoder the address of the transmitter the unit needs to be put
into the “learn” mode. To the right of the power LED on the front
panel of the rack mounted unit is a small hole (see graphic).
Insert the end of a paper clip through the hole to press and
release the learn switch.
When the unit goes into learn mode the power LED will begin to
flash red. While the LED is flashing, press any key on the
handheld transmitter and hold it down for approximately two
seconds. You must then press the learn switch again or just
wait for it to time out in approximately 17 seconds. Either way,
when the LED stops flashing, the decoder should have stored the
handheld transmitter’s new address. It can quickly be tested by
pressing any of the buttons on the handheld.
If the decoder recognizes the unit, the power LED will turn red as
long as the handheld button is depressed, then return to green
when it is released. If the decoder does not recognize the
handheld, the light will remain green.
The decoder can store up to 40 different handheld addresses. If
the memory is full when a new address is to be stored, the new
address will overwrite the oldest address in memory. When this
happens, the power LED will flash red 5 times to indicate that the
memory is full.
To clear all stored addresses from memory, hold the learn switch
closed for 10 seconds. The power LED will stay red for the full
ten seconds, then return to green. When you release the learn
switch, the power LED will again turn red for 2 seconds, then
return to green. This indicates the memory has been cleared.
