The Zealot S2 is an electric skateboard designed for personal transportation, offering a blend of performance and user-friendly features. It is intended for riders who seek an exhilarating experience while prioritizing safety and proper maintenance.
The Zealot S2 is an electric longboard that provides motorized assistance for propulsion, allowing riders to travel at various speeds and tackle different terrains. It operates via a wireless remote control, which manages acceleration, braking, and navigation. The board is equipped with a battery system that powers two belt motors, enabling efficient and powerful movement. The design incorporates durable components such as an aluminum alloy truck, PU wheels, and a deck made from Canadian Maple, ABS, and Fiberglass, ensuring a robust and stable ride. The board also features a lighting system that can be activated and switched between modes via the remote, enhancing visibility and safety, especially in low-light conditions.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable riding experience, users are advised to always wear a helmet and other protective gear. The board should be ridden in open, flat areas with clean pavement for initial rides. Riders should maintain a wide stance, a low center of gravity, and lean forward during acceleration to counteract torque and prevent falling backward. Conversely, leaning backward during braking is crucial to prevent being thrown forward by sudden deceleration. The remote control, named HALO, offers intuitive operation with a throttle wheel for acceleration, braking, and navigation through menus. It also includes a power button for ON/OFF and menu selection, a turbo button for activating turbo mode or accessing the main menu, and an S/E button for switching between sport and eco modes or navigating previous menus. A fingerprint sensor is integrated for enhanced security. The remote also features a forward/reverse toggle and a Type-C charging port.
The Zealot S2 offers four distinct riding modes:
The board and remote are factory-paired, simplifying the initial setup process. However, if re-pairing is necessary, both the board and remote should be turned off, and their power buttons held simultaneously for 3 seconds. The remote's display guides the user through selecting drive mode (2WD/4WD), unit selection (MILES/KM), motor type (BELT/HUB), wheel size, gear ratio, and motor pole pairs, ensuring optimal configuration for the rider's preferences and board setup. The board also has a one-button start feature via the remote when in standby mode and will automatically shut down if inactive for 3 days. Double-clicking the power button on the remote can activate or switch between the board's lighting modes.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the Zealot S2. Users should frequently check all nuts and bolts to ensure they are tight before each ride. The skateboard should be cleaned regularly to remove dirt and debris. When not in use, both the board and the controller should be turned off.
Battery safety and maintenance are paramount. The battery should be recharged in a well-ventilated area, away from moisture or charging units. The skateboard should never be charged unattended. If any wire is damaged, the product or charging unit should be immediately stopped from use. Only appropriate chargers provided by Backfire should be used, and the board's battery should not be used to power other equipment.
The battery will enter a hibernation state if the skateboard is inactive for 7 days. If the board doesn't turn on upon receipt, it should be charged and activated first. Lithium batteries can be hazardous if misused, so it's vital to follow all instructions carefully. If the board has been ridden on wet ground, the battery should be removed and checked for moisture. Any evidence of moisture, including water stains, necessitates immediate disconnection of the battery from the board, and it should not be charged or used. Water-damaged batteries should be kept in a dry, fire-resistant place, ideally outdoors in a sealed bucket, and never indoors. Shipping a potentially water-damaged battery for service is not recommended.
Before each ride, the battery pack and its protective seal should be carefully checked for any damage. If damaged, the battery should be taken to a chemical waste disposal facility. The board should never be dropped. It should be stored in a dry place, and the battery should never be exposed to temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius. Only official board chargers should be used. The board should not be left unattended or worked on while charging. For long-term storage (2 months or more), the battery should be charged to 50%-60% and checked monthly, as an empty lithium-ion battery left for too long may become unchargeable. Fully charging the battery before its first use helps maximize its long-term performance.
The warranty covers parts for 6 months (180 days) from the date of receipt. Defects within this period will result in new parts being sent or an exchange with functionally equivalent products. The warranty does not cover damage from abuse, accidents, modifications, unauthorized repairs, neglect, water damage, or normal depletion of consumable parts like grip tape, wheels, and bearings, unless due to a material or workmanship defect. Gifts are also excluded from the warranty. For returns and warranty shipping, the original shipping box should be kept, as damage from insufficient packaging is not covered.
