Overview

This document provides assembly instructions and a parts list for the Wrought Iron 28" Round Mesh Bistro Table, identified by Item #2720700 / M21050T. This bistro table is designed for outdoor use, likely in a backyard or patio setting, given the manufacturer's name "BACKYARD Creations." Its primary function is to serve as a small, stable surface for placing items, such as drinks or small plates, in an outdoor environment. The mesh design of the tabletop suggests good drainage, preventing water from pooling, which is a desirable feature for outdoor furniture.

Technical Specifications and Parts:

The table consists of several key components:

  • Table Top (A): A round, mesh-designed surface, which forms the primary functional area of the table. Only one is required.
  • Table Legs (B): Three individual legs that provide the structural support for the tabletop. Three are required.
  • Stretcher (C): A circular ring that connects the legs, enhancing the table's stability and rigidity. Only one is required.
  • Bolts:
    • *Bolt (D) (1/4"12): Three bolts used to attach the legs to the tabletop.
    • *Bolt (E) (1/4"35): Three bolts used to attach the stretcher ring to the legs.
    • *Bolt (F) (1/4"15): Three bolts, also used in the assembly, though their specific connection point is not explicitly detailed in the text for Diagram 2, it's shown connecting the stretcher to the legs alongside Bolt (E).
  • Washers (G) (M6): Nine washers are provided, typically used to distribute the load of a fastener, prevent loosening, and protect the surface from damage during tightening.
  • Bolt Covers (H): Nine covers designed to conceal the bolt heads, likely for aesthetic purposes and to prevent snagging or injury.
  • Hex Wrench (I): One wrench is included for tightening the bolts during assembly.

The use of "Wrought Iron" in the product name suggests a durable and robust construction material, suitable for outdoor conditions. The mesh tabletop further contributes to its suitability for outdoor use by allowing water to drain through, preventing rust or damage from standing water.

Usage Features:

The table is designed for straightforward assembly, requiring only a few steps and the provided hex wrench. The instructions emphasize proper tightening of all bolts to ensure stability and safety.

  • Outdoor Suitability: The wrought iron construction and mesh tabletop are ideal for outdoor environments, offering durability and resistance to weather elements like rain.
  • Compact Design: As a "bistro table," it is likely designed to be compact, suitable for smaller outdoor spaces such as balconies, patios, or small garden areas.
  • Stability: The three-leg design, reinforced by a stretcher ring, aims to provide a stable surface.
  • Aesthetics: The bolt covers (H) suggest an attention to finished appearance, making the table more visually appealing by hiding exposed hardware.

Maintenance Features:

While specific maintenance instructions are not detailed in this document, the nature of wrought iron and the mesh design implies certain maintenance considerations:

  • Rust Prevention: Wrought iron, if not properly treated or maintained, can be susceptible to rust. Regular cleaning and potential re-coating or sealing might be necessary to prolong its lifespan, especially in humid or wet climates.
  • Drainage: The mesh tabletop inherently provides good drainage, reducing the need for manual water removal after rain.
  • Cleaning: The open mesh design might require occasional cleaning to remove debris that could accumulate in the mesh holes.
  • Tightening of Fasteners: The assembly instructions implicitly suggest a maintenance check: "Make sure all bolts are aligned properly and securely tightened." This implies that periodic re-tightening of bolts might be necessary to maintain the table's stability over time, especially with regular use and exposure to outdoor elements which can cause materials to expand and contract.

Important Safety Warnings:

The document includes a critical safety warning: "WARNING!: TABLE IS NOT MEANT FOR SITTING OR STANDING ON. DO NOT SIT/STAND ON, OR LEAN FULL BODY AGAINST TABLE. IMPROPER USE MAY LEAD TO PRODUCT DAMAGE AND/OR BODILY INJURY." This highlights that the table is designed solely as a surface for objects and not for supporting human weight. This is a common safety precaution for lightweight or small bistro tables, emphasizing their specific functional limitations.

Assembly Process:

The assembly process is outlined in four steps:

  1. Unpacking and Identification: Remove wrapping and identify all parts against the parts list.
  2. Tabletop Positioning: Place the Table Top Frame (A) upside down on the ground. The instruction advises covering the ground with a soft, smooth protective material to prevent scratching, indicating a concern for the finish of the parts.
  3. Attaching Legs and Stretcher:
    • Attach the three legs (B) to the tabletop (A) using Bolts (D) and Washers (G).
    • Attach the Stretcher Ring (C) to the legs (B) using Long Bolts (E,F) and Washers (G).
    • Crucially, it states to "Tighten bolts with Hex Wrench(I) after all parts are in place," indicating a sequential tightening process rather than tightening each bolt immediately after placement. This helps ensure proper alignment before final securing.
  4. Final Tightening and Positioning:
    • Ensure all bolts are properly aligned and securely tightened.
    • Place Bolt Covers (H) over the bolts.
    • Turn the table to an upright position on a flat surface.

The note "IT IS USER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE ALL PARTS ARE ASSEMBLED AND TIGHTENED PROPERLY AND SECURELY" further underscores the importance of careful assembly for the table's safe and effective operation.

In summary, the Wrought Iron 28" Round Mesh Bistro Table is a functional, durable, and aesthetically pleasing piece of outdoor furniture designed for light use in various outdoor settings. Its construction materials and design features are well-suited for outdoor conditions, and the assembly process is straightforward, with clear instructions and safety warnings.
