Overview

This document is the owner's manual for an Outdoor LP Gas Barbecue Grill, Model No. GBC1703WA-C, manufactured by RevoAce Inc. Limited.

Function Description:

The device is an outdoor liquid propane (LP) gas barbecue grill designed for residential use only. It is intended for cooking food outdoors and should not be used as a heater or in any enclosed area. The grill operates with LP gas cylinders and features multiple burners for cooking.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: GBC1703WA-C
  • Fuel Type: Liquid Propane (LP) gas only. Conversion to natural gas is dangerous and voids the warranty.
  • LP Gas Cylinder Requirements:
    • Must be constructed and marked in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) specifications or the National Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA-B339.
    • Must be arranged for vapor withdrawal.
    • Must have a listed overfilling prevention device (OPD).
    • Must be equipped with a cylinder connection device compatible with outdoor cooking appliances.
    • Must have a cylinder collar to protect the cylinder valve.
    • Never use a cylinder with a damaged body, valve, collar, or footing.
    • Cylinder must not be filled beyond 80 percent full.
    • Standard grill size LP gas tank (20 lb / 9 kg) with Acme Type 1 external threaded valve connection is required (not included).
  • Inlet Pressure: Designed to operate at an inlet pressure of 11 inches water column.
  • Clearance: Minimum clearance from sides and back of unit to combustible construction is 36 inches (91.4 cm). Do NOT operate within ten feet (3.05 m) of walls, structures, or buildings.
  • Assembly Time: Approximately one hour.
  • Included Tools: #2 Phillips Head Screwdriver (1 pc), M10-M5 Wrench (2 pcs).
  • Parts List Highlights:
    • Lid (G1503-020)
    • Warming Rack (G1203-100)
    • Cooking Grid (G1203-110)
    • Heat Plate (2) (G1203-120)
    • Burner (2) (G1503-060)
    • Igniter (B0217-H01)
    • Control Knob (2) (G1503-080)
    • Regulator/Hose Assembly (G1646-130)
    • Grease Cup (B0219-D01) and Grease Cup Support (B0220-D01)
    • Side Shelves (Left and Right) (G1503-130)
    • Wheels (2) (B0302-E01) and Axle (G1503-310)

Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: Strictly for outdoor use, away from enclosed areas, walls, structures, or buildings.
  • LP Gas Tank Installation: The LP gas tank is inserted upright into notches in the right cart frame with the valve facing the gas line connection, then secured with a retainer wire over the tank shoulder.
  • Connecting/Disconnecting LP Gas Tank: The regulator/hose assembly connects to the tank by turning a knob clockwise until it stops. Disconnection involves turning the tank valve to "CLOSED" and then turning the knob counterclockwise until loose.
  • Leak Testing: Mandatory before first use and every time the cylinder is connected. A leak detection solution (one part liquid dishwashing soap to three parts water) is applied to all "X" locations (connections). Bubbles indicate a leak. No smoking or open flames are allowed during leak testing.
  • First Use Preparation: All labels, packaging, and protective films must be removed. The grill should be operated on HIGH with the lid closed for at least 15 minutes to "heat clean" internal parts and dissipate odors.
  • Lighting Instructions:
    1. Open the lid.
    2. Ensure no obstructions to airflow to the burners (e.g., spiders, insects, webs).
    3. All control knobs must be in the "OFF" position.
    4. Connect the LP gas tank and turn its valve to "OPEN."
    5. Push and turn the left control knob to (HIGH).
    6. Press the igniter button quickly 3 to 4 times.
    7. If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, turn the burner control knob to "OFF," wait 5 minutes, and repeat.
    8. If the igniter fails, use a lit match secured with the lighting rod (included) to light the burners through the cooking grid and heat plates.
  • Flame Appearance: Normal flames are soft blue with yellow tips, 1-2 inches (25.4-50.8 mm) in height. Irregular or wavy yellow flames indicate a need for cleaning or replacement. Noisy, hard blue flames indicate a need for cleaning.
  • Turning Off: Turn the LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED," then turn all control knobs clockwise to the "OFF" position. A "poof" sound is normal as residual gas burns off.
  • Flare-up Control: Flare-ups are a natural part of grilling but excessive ones can be dangerous. To minimize, trim excess fat from meats, cook high-fat meats on LOW or indirectly, and ensure the grill is on a hard, level, non-combustible surface allowing grease to drain into the receptacle.
  • Grease Fires: If a grease fire occurs, immediately turn control knobs to "OFF" and the LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED." Do NOT use water; use a type BC dry chemical fire extinguisher or smother with dirt, sand, or baking soda. Closing the lid alone is not sufficient to extinguish grease fires.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning and Inspection: The grill should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected on a regular basis. All cleaning and maintenance should be performed when the grill is cool and the fuel supply is disconnected.
  • Surface Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with mild dishwashing detergent and water. For stubborn areas, use a citrus-based degreaser and a nylon brush. Rinse clean and air dry.
  • Main Burner Cleaning:
    1. Turn LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED" and all control knobs to "OFF."
    2. Disconnect the LP gas tank.
    3. Remove cooking grids and heat plates.
    4. Remove burners by detaching fasteners and lifting them from the gas valve orifice.
    5. Disconnect the wire from the spark electrode.
    6. Clean the venturi of each burner with a small bottle brush or compressed air.
    7. Remove food residue and dirt from the burner surface.
    8. Clean clogged ports with a stiff wire (e.g., paper clip).
    9. Inspect burners for damage (cracks or holes); replace if found.
    10. Re-install burners, ensuring correct positioning of the gas valve orifice and spark electrode.
    11. Replace heat plates and cooking grids.
    12. Reconnect LP gas tank and perform a leak test.
  • Burner/Venturi Tube Obstructions: Regularly check for spiders, insects, and webs that can clog the burner/venturi tubes, as this can lead to fire.
  • Storage:
    1. Turn LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED" and all control knobs to "OFF."
    2. Disconnect the LP gas tank.
    3. Clean all surfaces.
    4. Lightly coat burners and cooking grids with cooking oil to prevent rusting.
    5. If storing indoors, the LP tank must be disconnected, removed from the grill, and stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight with its protective cap cover.
    6. Cover the grill with a grill cover for protection from weather if storing outdoors.
  • Warranty: One-year limited warranty for all parts from the date of purchase, covering defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. Excludes failures due to accident, abuse, misuse, alteration, improper installation, improper maintenance, or service by third parties, as well as cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, discoloration, rust, weather damage).
