Usage Features
The mower is equipped with several features to facilitate its use:
- Controls: It includes a bail switch, start button, upper and lower handles, a height adjustment lever, speed control button, and a self-propel drive lever.
- Discharge Options: The mower supports rear discharge into a grass catcher, side discharge via a chute, and mulching using a mulch plug.
- Battery System: It operates with an 80V Lithium-ion battery pack. The machine has an automatic switch function that allows it to use a second battery if the first one cannot operate. A safety key (20) must be inserted for the engine to start.
- Handle Adjustment: The lower handle can be unfolded and secured in one of three positions using handle knobs. The upper handle is installed with bolts and knobs.
- Blade Height Adjustment: The blade height can be adjusted by pulling the height adjustment lever rearward to increase height or forward to decrease it.
- Self-Propel Drive System: The self-propel system can be engaged while the mower is running by pulling the self-propel lever. Speed can be adjusted using the speed control button (9), with a rabbit symbol for increasing speed and a turtle symbol for decreasing speed. The system can also be engaged when the mower is not running by pulling the self-propel lever upward. Releasing the lever disengages the system.
- Storage: The mower can be stood on end for storage, with a storage switch (24) preventing startup in this position. The safety key and battery pack must always be removed before storage.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for safe and efficient operation:
- Blade Maintenance: The blade and motor mounting bolts should be checked frequently for tightness. The blade should be replaced if bent or cracked, as an unbalanced blade can cause vibration and damage. Sharpen dull blades equally at both ends to maintain balance. When servicing blades, be aware that they can still move even when the power source is off. Always wear heavy gloves or wrap the blade with cloth when handling.
- Cleaning: Keep cutting edges clean and sharp. The mower deck should be cleaned after each use to remove grass clippings, leaves, dirt, and other debris. Do not wash the mower with a hose or use strong solvents/detergents on plastic parts.
- Safety Devices: Periodically inspect safety devices and cords for damage. Never operate the mower without the proper discharge cover, grass bag, mulching insert, side discharge chute, or other safety devices in place and functioning properly.
- Battery Care: Remove the battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the mower. Do not expose the battery pack to fire or excessive temperatures. Do not open or destroy the battery. If a leak occurs, avoid contact with the electrolytes. Dispose of damaged or worn-out Lithium-ion batteries at a certified recycling or disposal center, following local regulations.
- Storage: Store the machine indoors in a dry, high, or locked-up place, out of reach of children. Ensure the motor is not hot before storage. Check for loose or damaged parts and repair them as needed.
The manual emphasizes several safety precautions:
- Children and Bystanders: Keep the operating area clear of all persons, especially children and pets (at least 100 feet/30m). Never allow children under 14 to operate the mower.
- Personal Safety: Always wear safety glasses or goggles, and a face or dust mask if operations are dusty. Wear sturdy, rough-soled work shoes and close-fitting clothing. Avoid loose clothing or jewelry. Do not operate the mower under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Operating Environment: Thoroughly inspect the mowing area for foreign objects before operation. Stop the blade when crossing gravel drives, walks, or roads. Mow only in daylight or good artificial light. Avoid dangerous environments, damp/wet locations, or rain.
- Slope Operation: Mow across the face of slopes, not up and down. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction. Do not mow excessively steep slopes (greater than 15 degrees) or on wet grass. Maintain stable footing.
- Accident Prevention: Prevent unintentional starting by ensuring the switch is off before connecting the battery. Never pull the mower backward toward you unless necessary, and always look down and behind first. If the mower strikes a foreign object, stop the motor, remove the battery, inspect for damage, and repair before restarting.
- Battery Safety: Lithium-ion batteries contain toxic and corrosive materials. Follow specific instructions for handling and disposal to prevent injury, fire, explosion, or electric shock.
