Screen box mesh Fitting, maintenance and adjustment
• Check the conditions of the rubbing strips (camber rubbers) under the screens, replace them if they are worn, as this will cause
damage or wear to the screens. To replace them it is necessary to remove the screens as described above, then remove the old
rubbing strip and fit the new ones pushing them down into position.
• Periodically check and tighten all screening media ensuring that it is bearing down firmly on each rubbing strips to avoid
premature wear. When replacing tension bolts ensure that new Nyloc Nuts are used.
• When the machine is running check for any excessive noise from the screen box i.e.: bearings, mesh tension, clamp
retaining plates, springs etc.. Shutdown and then investigate source of the problem. Adjust or replace any defective
components.
Your Barford SR124 screen box is fitted with an End tensioning system on the bottom deck. The top mesh panel is tensioned
from the High end of the Screen box using a single tension clamp. The bottom mesh panel is tensioned using the mechanical
threaded adjusters on each side of the screen box directly under its vibrating mechanism. The bottom mesh panel adjusters
control the tension on a single removable high tensile spring steel camber bar.
BATTERY CHECK
• Always abide by safety regulations when dealing with batteries.
• Always wash hands after handling a battery.
• Ensure to maintain battery level. In cold weather distilled water should only be added immediately before starting the engine
to prevent it freezing.
• Always keep the terminals and case clean.
CHANGE OF BATTERY
• Always follow safety regulations.
• Ensure all electrical circuits are switched off.
• Disconnect the earth lead from the battery.
• Disconnect the positive lead from the battery.
• Remove battery from the machine.
• To reinstall always connect positive first and then connect the earth.
TRACK MAINTENANCE
• Refer to Tracks Operation Manual for advice and information, it is important to maintain your tracks on a regular basis.
• Always remove any debris and built up oil and grease, replace any damaged and broken parts.
TRACK TENSION
• When checking the tension on the tracks, drive your machine about 2 – 3 metres forward.
• Measure the sag on the top part of the track on the longest section of unsupported track as shown below.
• The sag of the track must be between 5mm and 15mm. You must check the track tension on a new machine.
• DO NOT set track tension too tight.
