The standpipe must have an internal diameter of at least 40mm
to allow an air gap between the drain hose and the standpipe.
It is a mandatory requirement that the standpipe is installed in
such a way that the end of the drain hose cannot be covered
with water.
NOTE: Whether discharging into a standpipe or into a sink, the
height of the discharge hose above floor level must be between
60 and 100cm (see Fig. 17).
