Overview

The Beer Grill TX Contact Grill is a professional kitchen appliance designed for grilling and roasting various food items efficiently and with precision. It features a multi-timer function, allowing for precise control over cooking times.

Function Description:

The TX contact grill is primarily used for grilling and roasting. Its two plates are pre-treated, enabling immediate use after connection to a power socket. The grill is designed to cook food from both sides simultaneously, ensuring even cooking and attractive grill marks. The multi-timer function allows users to set specific cooking durations, making it suitable for a wide range of recipes and desired doneness levels.

Important Technical Specifications:

The grill is equipped with 1.5 cm thick grey cast iron plates, which contribute to its robust performance and heat retention. It operates with a power output of 4000/8000 watts, ensuring quick heating and consistent performance even during continuous use and repeated short cleanings. The multi-timer system allows for setting and saving up to seven different expiry times (S1-S7), ranging from 00:30 minutes to 04:30 minutes, with a maximum setting range of 99:59 minutes. The timer also includes parameters for summertime adjustment (P1, 0-60 seconds, default 5 seconds) and adjustment locks (P19, A19) to prevent unauthorized changes.

Usage Features:

  • Grilling and Roasting Advice: For optimal results, the grill plates should be lightly oiled with pure peanut oil only after reaching the required temperature. Olive oil is not recommended due to its lower heat resistance. Meat should be seasoned shortly before grilling and placed on the heated grill, making contact with the top plate. For attractive grill marks, food can be turned slightly halfway through the grilling time. Irregularly cut meat or cutlets with bones may require turning once.
  • Contact Grill TX Grill and Plate Spray: This spray is recommended for application to hot, well-cleaned grill and roasting plates to prevent food from sticking. It should be used after every thorough plate cleaning for a non-stick effect. It can also be used as an alternative to oil.
  • Barbecuing and Roasting Specifics:
    • Red Meat: Ensure the grill plate is well heated. Doneness can be gauged by pressing the meat: soft indicates rare (bleu - saignant), firm like a rubber ball indicates medium-rare (à point), and hard indicates well-done.
    • White Meat: The grill should be moderately hot.
    • Fish (Small or Large): Grill on a fairly hot grill to prevent sticking. Fish should be dried well, seasoned, and placed in a little oil before grilling. A spray can be used if necessary.
    • Toast Slices: These turn out crispy on clean, ungreased grill plates.
    • Hot Sandwiches: Prepared as open or club sandwiches.
    • Roasting Large Pieces (Roasts, Poultry): For items like poultry, wrap them in aluminum foil and place between very hot grill plates. This allows for faster cooking times, contrary to the general rule of lower heat for thicker meats.
  • Grill Temperature Settings and Grilling Times: A detailed table provides recommended thermostat positions (e.g., 4 Δ 5) and grilling times (in minutes and seconds) for various food items, including red meat (beef, mutton, game), white meat (veal, pork, poultry), fish, and crustaceans.
  • Sausages, Minced Beef Steak, Veal Head: Specific settings and times are provided for items like bratwurst, Wienerli, cervelat, minced beef steak, hamburger, meatloaf, and calf's head.
  • Barbecue Specialities: Settings for mixed grill, grill skewers, cordon bleu, calf's liver, pork liver, kidney, bacon and ham, and veal or beef tongue are included.
  • Vegetables, Fruit: Guidelines for grilling tomatoes (unfilled/stuffed), stuffed eggplant, celery slices, bananas, and apples in silver paper are provided.
  • Toast Slices (Warm Bread, Gratinating): Settings for sandwiches and gratinating are also listed.
  • Water Content Note: Foods with high water content (e.g., fish, tomatoes, apples) require longer roasting times due to water's resistance to infrared rays.
  • Multi-Timer Operation:
    • Sequence Start: Press the start button to begin the timer. The remaining time counts down, and the colon in the display flashes.
    • Stopover: Pressing the start button again interrupts the sequence, and the display flashes. Pressing it again resumes the sequence.
    • Expiry Cancellation: Holding the start button for 3 seconds cancels the timer, resetting the display to "00:00."
    • Expiry Date: After the time elapses, a horn sounds for 5 seconds, and the display flashes "00:00." The horn can be canceled with the down button.
    • Time Selection: Stored sequence times can be selected by pressing the selection button, which cycles through settings. Holding the button down allows for automatic, rolling selection.
    • Foreground Setting: The selected time value can be adjusted with the up or down buttons without saving. This temporary setting remains active until a reselection or power-off.
    • Setting Mimicry: A short delay occurs when pressing the up or down button, after which the setting is unlocked, indicated by a flashing colon. Tapping or holding the button adjusts the value. The system returns to the basic state after 3 seconds of inactivity.
  • Programming: To permanently save time settings, press the Prog button for 1 second. The selection lamp flashes, indicating programming mode. Settings are saved in non-volatile memory. Pressing Prog again or waiting 5 seconds exits programming mode.
  • Parameter Level P and A: These advanced parameters are accessed by pressing the up and down buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. "P1" appears, and other P parameters can be selected with the up or down button. Values are adjusted by pressing up/down with Prog. After reaching the last P parameter, holding the up button for 6 seconds leads to "PA," then pressing up/down simultaneously for 3 seconds accesses A-level parameters.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: After removing food, the hot plates should be briefly cleaned with a damp cloth while still hot. For thorough cleaning, scrape both grill plates multiple times with the provided spatula, especially the grooves. Immediately after scraping, wet-brush the plates with the sweeping brush while warm. Then, spray the grill spray onto the hot plates again. This process helps rinse away grease residues into the drip tray.
  • Stand-by Cleaning: Cleaning is easier if the hot plates are folded on top of each other in a clean state during stand-by phases.
  • Fat Usage: Generally, use little to no fat when frying. If fat is needed, brush it directly onto the food or apply a thin layer to the used part of the plate, preferably with a nickel silver wire fat brush. The porous surface of the grey cast iron plates means fat is practically superfluous.
