Overview

This document is a user manual for a Beko dishwasher, covering models DDS25841X, DIS25841, DDS25842X, and DIS25842. It provides comprehensive instructions for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The Beko dishwasher is designed to clean and dry dishware efficiently. It features various washing programs tailored for different soiling levels and dish types, along with auxiliary functions to optimize performance. Key functions include:

  • Washing Programs: Ranging from "InnerClean" for machine maintenance to "Heavy+" for heavily soiled items, "Normal" for daily use, "Clean&Shine" for fast cleaning and drying of medium-soiled dishes, "Express" for lightly soiled dishes, and "Rinse & Hold" to prevent odor buildup on dishes awaiting a full wash.
  • Auxiliary Functions:
    • Half Load: Allows operation with a partial load, using both upper and lower racks.
    • Fast Function: Shortens the washing cycle time and reduces water consumption by increasing washing pressure.
    • Extra Drying Function: Enhances drying performance by increasing rinsing temperature and drying time.
    • Sanitize Function: Raises the water temperature in the final rinse to meet NSF/ANSI STANDARD 184 requirements for residential dishwashers, ensuring soil removal and sanitization efficacy. An "S" indicator appears on the display upon successful sanitization.
    • Automatic Detergent Detection Feature: Automatically detects the detergent type and adjusts the washing program and drying system for optimal performance. It can extend program duration by 20 minutes for special tablet detergents. This feature can be deactivated.
    • Time Delay: Allows scheduling the start of a program up to 24 hours in advance, useful for utilizing economical electricity tariffs.
  • Indicators and Warnings: Includes indicators for salt (S), rinse aid (*), and end of program. It also provides warnings for water cut-off (E:02) and overflowing (E:01).
  • Interior Lighting (Select Models): Illuminates the interior when the door is opened, with adjustable settings.
  • Floor Illumination (Select Models): Projects a light onto the floor to indicate that a program is running, turning off when the wash is complete. This feature cannot be canceled by the user.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Load Capacity: 8 place settings.
  • Permissible Water Pressure: 4.35 - 145 psi (0.3 - 10 bars).
  • Electrical Connection: 120 V (volts), 12 A (amps), 60Hz (hertz).
  • Total Power: 1400 W (watts).
  • Heater Power: 1100 W (watts).
  • Water Hardness System: Adjustable to different levels (0-5) based on water supply hardness, requiring the use of softening salt.
  • Detergent Dispenser Capacity: Brimful, it holds 1.5 Ounces (45 cm³) of detergent. Recommended fill levels are 0.5 Ounces (15 cm³) or 0.85 ounces (25 cm³).

Usage Features:

  • Loading:
    • Upper Rack: Designed for dessert plates, cups, and glasses. Features adjustable shelves (select models) and an upper cutlery basket (select models). The height of the upper basket can be adjusted in three positions (lower, middle, upper) even when loaded, using a mechanism that allows lifting or lowering. Collapsible upper basket wires (select models) provide flexibility for larger dishes.
    • Lower Rack: Suitable for plates, bowls, pots, and other large, heavily soiled items. Includes collapsible tines (select models) for easier placement of large pieces and a lower basket bottle wire (select models) for washing long pieces with wide mouths.
    • Cutlery Basket: Designed for knives, forks, and spoons. Can be moved to create more space in the lower basket. Sharp utensils should be placed with sharp side down. Large knives and other sharp utensils can be placed horizontally in the upper rack.
  • Detergent Use: Supports powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergents. Specific instructions are provided for adding detergent and using tablet detergents, including recommendations for switching between powder and tablet types.
  • Rinse Aid: Dispensed automatically to improve drying and prevent water/lime stains. The amount of rinse aid dispensed is adjustable (P:0 to P:4 settings).
  • Dishwasher Salt: Essential for the water softening system, especially in areas with hard water. The salt reservoir should be refilled when the salt indicator appears. Initial use requires adding 4 cups of water to the reservoir before filling with salt. Only special softening salts should be used.
  • Program Operation:
    • Turning the machine on/off using the On/Off key.
    • Selecting programs using the Program Selection / Program Cancel key.
    • Starting a program by closing the door.
    • Canceling a program by pressing and holding the Program Selection / Program Cancel keys for 3 seconds, followed by a draining process.
    • Warning sound volume is adjustable (S:0 off, S:1 medium, S:2 high).

Maintenance Features:

  • Exterior Care: Clean with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. For stainless steel, use a cleaner and wipe in the direction of the grain. Clean the door gasket regularly.
  • Interior Care: Regular cleaning is recommended.
  • Filters: Clean at least once a week. Involves disassembling the micro filter, coarse filter, and metal/plastic filter, cleaning them under running water with a brush, and reassembling correctly. Operating the dishwasher without filters or with incorrectly placed filters reduces washing efficiency.
  • Hose Filter (Select Models): Check and clean regularly to prevent damage from impurities in the water supply.
  • Wash Arms: Clean at least once a week. Check for clogged holes on both upper and lower wash arms and clean them as needed. The lower wash arm can be pulled up for removal, and the upper wash arm's nut can be turned left to remove it.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides solutions for common issues such as:

  • Machine not starting (power, circuit breaker, water supply, door, On/Off button).
  • Dishes not washed clean (loading, program selection, stuck/clogged wash arms, clogged/incorrectly installed filters, overloaded baskets, unsuitable detergent storage, insufficient detergent/rinse aid, open detergent dispenser lid).
  • Dishes not dry (loading, insufficient rinse aid).
  • Different odor in the machine (clogged filters, dirty dishes left for too long).
  • Rust, discoloration, or surface deterioration on dishes (salt leakage, salty food remnants, improper electrical grounding, intensive cleansers, metal items used for unintended purposes, low-quality stainless steel, corroded items).
  • Detergent remains in dispenser (damp dispenser, detergent added too early, obstructed dispenser lid).
  • Decorations/ornaments erased (unsuitable for dishwasher).
  • Dishes scratched (salt leakage, low water hardness setting, improper loading, aluminum items).
  • Smear/bluish/rainbow appearance on glasses (excessive rinse aid, soft water).
  • Foam forms in the machine (hand-wash detergent, spilled rinse aid, open rinse aid reservoir lid).
  • Kitchen utensils broken (improper loading, overloaded baskets).
  • Water remains in the dishwasher (clogged filters, clogged discharge hose).

The manual emphasizes safety instructions, recycling guidelines, and warranty information for Beko dishwashers. It also advises contacting an authorized service agent for repairs and provides contact details for customer service.
