Overview

This document is a user manual for a Beko Dishwasher. It provides instructions for safety, installation, operation, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Beko Dishwasher is designed for domestic use to wash household dishes. It features a water softening system to reduce water hardness, improving washing, rinsing, and drying performance. The appliance includes upper and lower baskets for dish placement, with collapsible tines and bottle wires for flexible loading of various items. Some models may include a silverware basket, an upper cutlery basket, and a tabletop.

The dishwasher offers several washing programs, including:

  • Intensive: Suitable for heavily soiled dishes, pots, and pans (70°C).
  • Eco: The most efficient program in terms of combined power and water consumption, suitable for washing dishes with normal amount of soil (50°C).
  • Clean&Shine: Daily washing program for normally soiled dishes (65°C).
  • Quick&Shine: Daily washing program for normally soiled dishes in the fastest way (60°C).
  • Mini: Suitable for lightly soiled daily dishes that are scraped or pre-cleaned (35°C).

Auxiliary functions are available to save time, water, and power, though they may affect program duration and are not compatible with all programs. These include:

  • Extra Drying Function: Provides superior drying performance.
  • Half Load Function: Allows operation without loading the machine completely, saving water and power when using both lower and upper baskets.

Usage Features

Installation:

  • The dishwasher should be placed on a solid, flat floor with sufficient load-carrying capacity, at least 1 cm away from other furniture.
  • It should not be installed in places where temperatures may fall below 0°C or on long pile rugs.
  • Water inlet and discharge hoses must be securely fastened and undamaged.
  • The water inlet hose should be connected directly to a water tap with a pressure between 0.3 and 10 bars. A pressure relief valve is recommended if pressure exceeds 10 bars.
  • The water discharge hose should be connected to the drainpipe without bending, at a height of 50-100 cm from the floor.
  • The product must be connected to a grounded outlet protected by a fuse complying with technical specifications.
  • For initial use, the salt reservoir should be filled with 1 litre of water before adding salt, and the shortest program should be run with detergent while the machine is empty.

Preparation:

  • Wipe away coarse food remnants from dishes before loading.
  • Operate the product only when fully loaded.
  • Use only dishwasher-safe detergents, rinse aids, and additives.
  • Adding Salt: Special softening salts (granule or powder-formed) must be used. The salt reservoir should be filled before starting the machine to prevent corrosion.
  • Adding Detergent: Powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergents can be used. The detergent dispenser has level markings (15 cm³ or 25 cm³) for appropriate amounts. Detergent should be added just before operation.
  • Adding Rinse Aid: Rinse aid improves drying efficiency and prevents water/lime stains. The reservoir should be filled to the "MAX" level. Adjustment of rinse aid level is possible.
  • Loading Dishes: Dishes should be placed orderly to prevent water accumulation. Sharp and pointed items should be placed downwards.
  • Basket Adjustments:
    • Cutlery Basket: Can be moved to create more space in the lower basket.
    • Collapsible Tines: Located in both lower and upper baskets, they can be folded to accommodate large items. Tines should be held from the middle when adjusting to prevent bending.
    • Lower Basket Bottle Wire: Designed for washing long pieces with wide mouths and can be removed when not in use.
    • Collapsible Upper Basket Wires: Can be adjusted to create larger spaces.
    • Upper Basket Multipurpose Service Rack: An accessory for washing extra-long ladles and bread knives, which can be removed if not needed.
    • Upper Basket Height Adjustment: The upper basket can be adjusted to three different positions (lower, middle, upper) to create space as needed, whether empty or loaded.

Operation:

  • On/Off Key: Turns the machine on, defaulting to the Eco program.
  • Programme Selection / Cancel Key: Selects programs and cancels a running program by pressing for 3 seconds.
  • Function Keys: Activate auxiliary functions. Indicators flash if the selected program supports the function.
  • Starting a Program: Close the door after selecting a program.
  • Delayed Start: Allows programming the washing time up to 9 hours in 3-hour increments.
  • Salt Indicator (S): Lights up when salt needs to be added.
  • Rinse Aid Indicator (*): Lights up when rinse aid needs to be added.
  • End of Programme: An audible warning signal indicates the program has finished.
  • Water Cut-off Warning: Flashes if water inlet tap is turned off or water intake is insufficient.
  • Overflowing Warning: Flashes if the machine takes in too much water or there is a leak.

Maintenance Features

  • General Cleaning: Unplug the product and turn off the tap before cleaning. Do not use abrasive substances.
  • Outer Surface: Wipe gently with a mild cleaning material and damp cloth.
  • Interior: Clean by running a program with or without detergent. If water remains, drain it or clean the filters.
  • Filters: Clean at least once a week. Remove the micro filter, coarse filter, and metal/plastic filter, then clean them under running water with a brush. Ensure correct re-installation.
  • Hose Filter: Check and clean regularly to prevent damage from impurities in the water supply.
  • Impellers: Clean at least once a week. Check for clogged holes on both lower and upper impellers. Remove and clean them. Ensure the upper impeller's nut is tightened well after re-installation.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as:

  • Machine not starting (power, fuse, water supply, door closure).
  • Dishes not washed clean (loading, program selection, clogged impellers/filters, detergent issues, rinse aid issues).
  • Dishes not dry (loading, drying performance).
  • Stains on glasses (rinse aid, water hardness).
  • Foam in the machine (hand-wash detergent, rinse aid spillage).
  • Different odor in the machine (new machine odor, clogged filters, dirty dishes left for days).
  • Rust, discoloration, or surface deterioration on dishes (salt leakage, salty food remnants, lack of grounding, intensive cleansers, improper use of metal items, low-quality stainless steel, corroded items).
  • Detergent remaining in dispenser (damp dispenser, late detergent addition, blocked dispenser lid, unsuitable storage, clogged impellers).
  • Decorations/ornaments being erased (unsuitable items for dishwasher).
  • Dishes scratched (aluminum items, salt leakage, low water hardness, improper loading).

For any issues that cannot be resolved with the provided instructions, users are advised to consult their dealer or an Authorized Service Agent.
