Function Description
The Beko refrigerator is designed for food storage, featuring separate compartments for fresh food and freezing. It includes an indicator panel for monitoring and adjusting settings, such as temperature and special functions. The refrigerator is equipped with various shelves, drawers, and door compartments to organize different types of food. Some models may include a water dispenser, an ice maker, a fan for air circulation, a crisper for vegetables, and an odor filter. The doors are reversible, allowing for flexible installation.
Important Technical Specifications
The refrigerator operates within specific temperature ranges for optimal performance. The freezer compartment temperature can be set between -24°C and -18°C, while the fridge compartment temperature can be set between 1°C and 8°C. For models with a water dispenser, the cold water inlet pressure should be a maximum of 90 psi (6.2 bar), with a pressure limiting valve recommended if the water pressure exceeds 80 psi (5.5 bar). The water temperature operating interval should be between 0.6°C (33°F) and 38°C (100°F). The product uses R600a as a refrigerant, which is a flammable gas, or R134a, a non-flammable gas, as indicated on the type label inside the refrigerator. The product complies with EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) for waste electrical and electronic equipment. The service life of the product is 10 years.
Usage Features
The refrigerator offers several usage features to enhance convenience and food preservation:
- Indicator Panel: A visual display allows users to monitor and adjust settings. It includes indicators for freezer and fridge compartment status, error status, temperature, economy mode, and vacation function.
- Temperature Setting Button: Allows users to change the temperature for both fridge and freezer compartments.
- Compartment Selection Button: Enables switching between fridge and freezer compartments for setting adjustments.
- Vacation Function: When activated, the fridge compartment's active cooling is suspended, displaying "- -" on the freezer compartment temperature indicator. This function is not suitable for storing food in the fridge compartment during activation.
- Freezing Fresh Food: Recommendations include wrapping or covering food before placing it in the refrigerator, cooling hot food to room temperature, and ensuring food is fresh and of good quality before freezing. Food should be divided into portions and packaged in airtight, moisture-proof, and acid-resistant materials.
- Deep-freeze Information: Food should be frozen rapidly to maintain quality and can be stored for several months at -18°C or lower.
- Making Ice (Optional): Fill the ice container with water and place it into the freezer compartment. Ice will be ready in approximately two hours.
- Twist Ice - matic (Optional): This feature allows for easy ice cube removal by twisting the ice maker. Instructions are provided for removing the water tank, adding water, and extracting ice cubes.
- Ice Container (Optional): Fill with water and place in the freezer. Ice cubes will fall to the service plate when ready.
- Fan (Optional): Ensures homogeneous distribution and circulation of cold air inside the refrigerator, optimizing cooling performance.
- Crisper (Optional): Designed to keep vegetables fresh and humid.
- Chiller Compartment (Optional): Stores delicatessen, meat, fish, and dairy products at a lower temperature than the main fridge compartment.
- Odor Filter (Optional): Prevents unpleasant odors. The filter should be cleaned annually by pulling down its cover, removing it, and airing it in sunlight for a day.
- Reversing the Doors (Optional): Detailed numerical instructions are provided for changing the door opening direction.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the refrigerator's longevity and efficient operation:
- Cleaning: Before cleaning or defrosting, unplug the refrigerator. Use lukewarm water and a soft cloth to clean the interior and exterior. Avoid using abrasive tools, soap, household cleaning agents, detergents, kerosene, fuel oil, varnish, or other chemicals that could damage plastic surfaces. Do not spray water inside or outside the product.
- Defrosting: The freezer compartment defrosts automatically.
- Door Seals: Regularly check door seals to ensure they are clean and free from food particles.
- Adjusting the Legs: The refrigerator's adjustable feet allow for balancing the unit on uneven surfaces, preventing jolts.
- Changing the Illumination Lamp: If the bulb/LED needs replacement, contact an authorized service. The lamp is for user assistance and is not suitable for household room illumination.
- Troubleshooting: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to address common issues such as the refrigerator not operating, compressor not running, excessive noise, and temperature problems. It provides solutions like checking power connections, ensuring proper ventilation, and verifying door closure.
- Disposing of the Packaging: Packaging materials are recyclable and should be disposed of according to local waste instructions.
- Disposing of the Old Refrigerator: Before disposal, cut the electric plug and disable any door locks to protect children. Consult an authorized dealer or waste collection center for proper disposal.
- Placing and Installation: Install the refrigerator in an easily accessible place, away from heat sources, humid areas, and direct sunlight. Ensure at least 5 cm distance from the ceiling and walls for proper air ventilation. If the entrance door is too narrow, authorized service personnel can remove the refrigerator doors for passage.
