Usage Features

The WM 6112W offers a range of features designed for user convenience and optimal washing results:

  • Programme Selection: A programme selection knob allows users to choose from various washing programmes tailored for different fabric types and soil levels.
  • Temperature Adjustment: A temperature adjustment button enables users to decrease the temperature gradually, providing flexibility for delicate items or energy saving.
  • Spin Speed Adjustment: A spin speed adjustment button allows users to select the desired spin speed, which can be decreased gradually. The display shows "Rinse Hold" and "No Spin" options.
  • Auxiliary Functions: The machine includes auxiliary function buttons for additional options such as Pre-wash, Quick Wash, Extra Rinse, and Anti-Crease. These functions can be combined with main programmes to enhance washing performance.
  • Delayed Start: A delayed start button allows users to set a time for the washing machine to start, typically between 3 to 9 hours, providing flexibility for scheduling laundry.
  • Programme Follow-up Indicator: This indicator provides visual feedback on the current stage of the washing programme.
  • Detergent Drawer: The detergent drawer is composed of three compartments: (1) for prewash, (2) for main wash, and (3) for softener. It is crucial to use the correct type and amount of detergent (powder, liquid, or tablet) for each compartment.
  • Detergent Type Selection: The machine supports different detergent types for various fabrics and soil levels. For heavily soiled whites and colours, powder detergents are recommended. For normally soiled items, powder or liquid detergents are suitable. For lightly soiled items, powder or liquid detergents are also recommended.
  • Bleaching: Bleach can be used for cottons and whites. It is recommended to add bleach to the prewash compartment at the beginning of the prewash programme.
  • Limescale Remover: When required, limescale removers manufactured specifically for washing machines can be used.
  • Child Lock: This feature prevents children from tampering with the machine, ensuring safety.
  • Loading Door Lock: The loading door is locked while a programme is running and can only be opened after the programme completes or if the water level is unsuitable.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for extending the product's service life and preventing common problems. The manual outlines several maintenance procedures:

  • Cleaning the Detergent Drawer: The detergent drawer should be cleaned regularly (every 4-5 washing cycles) to prevent accumulation of powder detergent. This involves pressing a point on the siphon, pulling the compartment out, washing it with lukewarm water, and reinserting it. If the siphon is of a different design, it can be lifted from the rear to remove.
  • Cleaning the Loading Door and Drum: Residues of softener, detergent, and dirt can accumulate, causing unpleasant odours and washing complaints. To prevent this, the "Drum Cleaning" programme should be used. If unavailable, the "Cottons-90" programme with "Additional Water" or "Extra Rinse" auxiliary functions can be run without laundry, adding up to 100g of powder anti-limescale (or one tablet) to the main wash compartment. After the programme, the inside of the bellow should be dried with a clean cloth.
  • Cleaning the Body and Control Panel: The machine body should be wiped with soapy water or non-corrosive mild gel detergents and dried with a soft cloth. The control panel should only be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Cleaning the Water Intake Filters: Filters are located at the end of each water intake valve at the rear of the machine and at the end of each water intake hose where they connect to the tap. These filters should be cleaned when they get dirty. This involves closing the taps, removing the nuts of the water intake hoses, accessing the filters, cleaning them with a brush (or pliers if very dirty), taking out the filters on the flat ends of the hoses with gaskets, cleaning them under running water, and then replacing the gaskets and filters and tightening the hose nuts.
  • Draining Remaining Water and Cleaning the Pump Filter: If the machine fails to drain water, the pump filter needs to be cleaned. This involves opening the filter cap, pulling out the filter, and cleaning it. For machines with a separate emergency draining hose, this hose should be used to drain the water first. After cleaning, the filter and cap must be reinserted correctly.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the programme not starting, machine vibrates or makes noise, machine stopped shortly after programme started, programme time does not countdown, foam overflowing from the detergent drawer, and laundry remains wet at the end of the programme. It advises users to check simple solutions before contacting an Authorized Service Agent.
