d. Now send several single transponds on the proper code and verify that five replies occur from
the 865-A with each transpond.
STEP 7 - PREPARE FOR DEPLOYMENT
At this point, the 865-A is ready for installation into the mooring or other appropriate hardware.
a. With the release pin retracted, install the Benthos stainless steel expendable release link, then
turn the switch to HOLD-EXTEND. Be careful to avoid jamming the pin.
b. When the pin has fully extended, turn the switch to ON- ARMED. Listen for power-up pings.
c. Check that the white plastic inserts on each end of the 865-A are not damaged to reduce the
possibility of corrosion problems.
The 865-A is now ready for deployment.
