Unpack the components carefully. Please check all parts have been removed from the packaging.

This document describes the 4L Air Cooler, model K312 (v002: 08/12/21), a versatile appliance designed for domestic indoor use, offering cooling, ventilation, and air humidification functions. It is manufactured by Bergstrom and distributed by The Enterprise Department, Coopers of Stortford.

Function Description:

The 4L Air Cooler is a multi-functional device that provides three primary modes of operation: ventilation, cooling, and humidification.

Ventilation: In this mode, the appliance circulates air at different speeds (low, medium, high) to create a comfortable airflow. The speed can be adjusted using the SPEED button on the control panel or remote control.
Cooling: To enhance cooling, users can add fresh cold water to the 4-liter water tank. For additional cooling, two freezer cooling elements are supplied, allowing one to be used while the other is kept in the freezer. This mode should only be used when the water tank is filled with fresh cold water. The indicator light for cooler/humidify will illuminate red in this mode.
Humidification: This mode helps to increase indoor air humidity, aiming for a healthy living climate of 40% to 60% humidity. Similar to cooling, this mode requires the water tank to be filled with fresh cold water. The indicator light for cooler/humidify will illuminate blue in this mode. The ventilation speed is fixed at the lowest setting during humidification.

The appliance also features a Swing Mode, which enables automatic horizontal movement of the fins to distribute air more effectively. The up and down wind direction can be adjusted manually. A Timer Function allows users to set the appliance to switch off automatically after a period ranging from 30 minutes to 7.5 hours, in 30-minute increments.

Usage Features:

Control Panel and Remote Control: The air cooler can be operated via both an integrated control panel on the appliance and a provided remote control.
Water Tank Filling: To fill the water tank, the lock lever must be turned to a horizontal position, and the tank carefully pulled out. Water should not exceed the maximum level (MAX). The water tank stopper needs to be removed to pull out the water tank.
Cooling Elements: Two ice boxes are included to enhance the cooling effect. These should be frozen and placed in the water tank.
Indicator Lights: The appliance features indicator lights for various settings, including timer intervals (0.5h, 1h, 2h, 4h), fan speeds (low, med, high), swing mode, cooler/humidify mode (red for cooling, blue for humidification), timer, and on/off status.
Safety Precautions: Users are advised to read all instructions before use, ensure the appliance is placed on a level, stable surface, and maintain a minimum clearance of 10cm around all faces for sufficient ventilation. It should not be used outdoors or for commercial purposes. The power cable, plug, and appliance should never be immersed in water or any other liquid. The appliance should be unplugged when not in use and before cleaning. It should not be operated with a damaged power cable or plug, or if it has malfunctioned or been damaged. Children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, can use the appliance if supervised or instructed safely. Children under 3 years should be continuously supervised.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning the Exterior: The exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge, using a mild washing-up liquid if necessary. Abrasive cleaning agents should not be used. The appliance, cord, or plug should never be submerged in water.
Cleaning the Air Filter: Regular cleaning of the air filter is recommended to prevent clogging with dust and dirt. The air filter can be unscrewed from the rear, cleaned with a mild detergent in lukewarm water (approx. 40°C), rinsed, and air-dried away from direct sunlight or heating. It must be fully dry before reinstallation.
Cleaning the Ventilation Grilles: The ventilation grilles can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush nozzle.
Cleaning the Water Absorbing Filter: After removing the air filter, the water absorbing filter can also be removed from its holder, cleaned with clean water and a soft brush, and then carefully placed back. Detergents should not be used on this filter.
Cleaning the Water Tank: The water tank should be removed, the pump disconnected, and any remaining water discarded. The tank can be cleaned with a soft detergent and warm water, then rinsed and dried. The pump should be re-fastened in its holder before placing the tank back in the appliance.
Battery Maintenance: Batteries should be kept away from children and pets, not mixed with used/new batteries, removed if left for long periods, and never disposed of in a fire. Spent batteries must be disposed of and recycled according to local regulations.

Disposal:

Coopers of Stortford encourages the use of recyclable or recycled packaging. All packaging materials (paper, cartons) should be disposed of in accordance with local recycling regulations. At the end of its lifespan, the product should be disposed of at a local council-authorised household waste recycling centre. The CE mark indicates compliance with European safety standards.
