INSTALLATION MANUAL
Thank you for buying this product. Our company is sure that you will be
more than satised with the product’s performance.
Carefully read the “INSTRUCTION BOOKLET” which is supplied toge-
ther with this product, since they provide important information re-
garding the safety, installation, use and maintenance of the product.
This product complies with recognised technical standards and safety
regulations. We declare that this product is in conformity with the fol-
lowing European Directives: 2004/108/EEC, 2006/95/EEC.
This is a type C device according to EN12453-5.5.1, and it only complies with
the 2006/42/EEC directive when it is connected to a control panel from the
same manufacturer, provided with a fault-nding circuit in safety circuits,
and to a conforming sensitive element. In the case where the fault-nding
circuit in safety circuits is not used, get qualied personnel to check the
device function at intervals not longer than 6 months.
WARNING
For wiring and installation operations, refer to current standards and
also to good technical practice.
1) GENERAL OUTLINE
This board can be used in the safety devices which have a resistance of
8200 Ω at rest. When the device is stressed or when there is a fault in
the wiring cables (short circuit or open circuit), the equivalent resistan-
ce changes and this causes triggering of the board output relay, which
changes status.
The safety device having these characteristics (8200 Ω resistance at
rest) must be in conformity with the EN 954-1 standards for category
2. The board is provided with a fault-nding system. Correct operation
is only guaranteed if it is connected to appropriate BFT control units.
FLC 8K2 is a safety device which can be used on sliding and swing ga-
tes, roll-up doors, sliding and sectional doors.

To connect the control units from the same manufacturer, provided with
a fault-nding circuit in safety circuits, refer to the connection diagrams
for the devices tested, which are contained in the control unit manual.
In the connection diagrams for the devices tested, the devices tested
are shown as an RX/TX pair, the terminals of RX correspond to those of
FLC8k2, terminal 1 of TX corresponds to terminal 6 of FLC8k2, and the
connection for terminal 2 of TX is not to be carried out. In the case where
the fault-nding circuit is not used in safety circuits, make a wire bridge
between terminals 1 and 6 of FLC8k2, and get qualied personnel to
check the device function at intervals not longer than 6 months.
Moreover, protect the cables along their entire length (for example by
inserting them in raceways).
4) INSTALLATION
Before carrying out any connections, check the diameter of the sensitive
element connection cable. If necessary, replace the rubber cap (Fig. 4-7).
Warning: do not forget to t the O rings (Fig.7). The FLC 8K2 device can
be housed under the cover of the control unit box (Fig.10) or mounted
on the wall by means of the clip supplied or a clevis for rigid pipes. If
adequately-sized pipes are available for passing the cables through, FLC
8K2 can be inserted inside these pipes.
WARNING!
Correct operation is only ensured when the data contained in the
present manual are observed. The company is not to be held re-
sponsible for any damage resulting from failure to observe the in-
stallation standards and the instructions contained in the present
manual.

ual are not binding. The Company reserves the right to make any
alterations deemed appropriate for the technical, manufacturing
and commercial improvement of the product, while leaving the es-
sential product features unchanged, at any time and without un-
dertaking to update the present publication.
