Hints:
- Remove steamed food immediately once it is cooked. It is not recommended
to keep food in the cooker on “Keep-Warm” mode for longer than 5-10
minutes to avoid over cooking.
- Always keep the lid on the cooker during the entire steaming process.
Opening the lid causes a loss of heat and steam and will slow down the
steaming time.
- Since most vegetables only absorb a small amount of water, there is no need
to increase the amount of water with a larger serving of vegetables.
- We recommend adding an additional 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water to measurements
for frozen vegetables.
- To adjust steaming times, add or subtract water amount.
- Steaming times may vary depending upon the cut of meat being used.
- To ensure meat tastes best and to prevent possible illness, check that the
meat is completely cooked prior to serving. If it is not, simply place more
water in the cooking pot and repeat the steaming process until the meat is
adequately cooked.
- Smaller foods may be placed on a heat-proof dish and then placed on the
steam tray.
- You can also cook rice and steam vegetables/food at the same time with the
steam tray resting on the cooking pot. It is possible to steam at any point
during the rice cooking cycle. However, it is recommended that you steam
during the end of the cycle so that steamed food does not grow cold or
become soggy before the rice is ready.
- Steaming times may vary when cooking rice.
- Parchment paper or aluminum foil may be used as well. Place the paper/
foil in the center of the steam tray and ensure it does not create a seal along
the bottom of the steam tray. For best results, it is recommended to puncture
small holes in the paper/foil.
Sauté function
This function is designed to allow you to sauté or brown ingredients, making fried
rice/Biryani and stir-fry.
- Open the lid.
- Connect power cord to the mains supply outlet and press the Sauté On/Off
button once to activate the sauté function. The sauté indicator will light up.
Allow it to heat up for approximate 1 minute.
