Physical Description and Theory of Operation

Principle of Operation

The ActiveOx Series ionization generator rail is designed for plenum mounting, installed in the supply or return air side of an AHU.

ActiveOx Generator Series Bi-Polar Ionization Unit

This unit is a needlepoint Bi-Polar ionization device that produces synchronized bipolar ionization of an air stream.

System Regulation

Power input to ionization generators is not adjustable.

Building Management System Control (BMSC)

The ActiveOx Series generator rail offers an option for a control box for building management system (BMS) or BAS interface.

Installation Procedures

Initial Setup and Clearances

Generator rails install in AHU supply/return plenum; minimum MERV 8 prefilter required. Maintain clearances from filters and surfaces.

Installation Guidelines

Install rail assembly per guidelines; ensure ionizers are accessible for future service.

Airflow Orientation

The rail must be installed so air blows perpendicular to the ionizer module needle electrodes.
