RL39 - Repair instructions for changing the frame

Proceed carefully when pushing the brake line through the frame so as not to damage the cable harness.

Clamp the brake line in the groove of the assembly tool and fix it in place with
a second transport lock and clamping pliers (or a vise). Carefully drive a new
reinforcing sleeve all the way into the brake line using the plastic mallet.

Check that the sleeve is pushed all the way into the line.

Push the retaining bolt and a new clamping ring onto the brake line. Push the
prepared brake line all the way into the brake lever.

Screw the retaining bolt two or three turns into the brake lever by hand.

Keep the brake line pressed firmly into the brake lever until the retaining bolt
has been tightened with the size 8 adapter bit and a torque of 4 Nm.

Check that it is installed correctly by trying to pull the brake line away from
the grip.

The right cable outlet in the downtube is marked with an “R” and the left with
an “L.”
