  If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner has reduced spray or no spray, it could be due to several reasons. First, the spray nozzle might be clogged; try cleaning it with an unfolded paper clip. Another reason could be that the clean water/solution tank is empty, so check and refill it if needed. The insert at the bottom of the clean water/solution tank might also be clogged; clean it to resolve the issue. Lastly, the pump may need priming. You can prime it by gently lifting the clean water/solution tank while depressing the spray trigger, or gently squeeze the clean tank while depressing the spray trigger.

Make sure the upholstery/carpet tool is correctly positioned on the surface, following the recommended cleaning procedures. Check if the dirty water tank is full and empty it if necessary. The upholstery/carpet tool brush might be worn, in which case you should replace it with a new brush. Excess solution in the flex hose can also be a problem; lift the tool and point it upwards to allow water in the hose to flow into the dirty water tank. Finally, ensure you are using the correct cleaning formula, specifically BISSELL 2X Portable Machine formulas.

  If the Deep Stain Tool on your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner is over-spraying formula, it could be due to a couple of reasons. Ensure that the Deep Stain Tool’s formula injection needles are deeply inserted within your carpeting before pressing the formula spray trigger and keep the tool in direct contact with the carpet at all times to avoid over-spraying. Also, the Deep Stain Tool is designed for high-pile carpets and rugs, so if you're using it on upholstery, switch to the 3” Tough Stain Tool instead.
